Front wheel removal

Post by davenowherejones »

What size hex driver do I need to remove the front axle of a Honda Forza 300?

It looks like a 16mm.

You need two, one for the lock bolt and another for the spindle.
No idea what size they are though.

On the PCX the spindle is 14mm and the lock bolt is 19.
Knowing the reuse engineering of Honda, I would be surprised if it would be different on the Forza.

The Forza 300 has a completely different wheel spindle attachment, there's no wheel nut, the spindle is threaded and you need a large male allen key to undo it.

A 16 was too loose and my 17 would not fit but the Lordco store 17 did fit. I took a grinder to my 17.2 and made it a 17.

Why when the second 17mm fitted?

Sooooo. As to size I'm suspecting its probably 17mm...

So the axle needs a 17mm hex driver. What about the pinch bolt? What size hex driver is needed there for the Forza 300?
Current ride: 2014 Forza bought new in mid-2015 with only 15K on the clock
Traded in: 2003 GL1800 with 152K and several IBA rides on the clock
6 other previous bikes
nearly 3/4 million miles logged
now just commuting instead of touring

Nevermind. It’s an 8mm hex driver for the pinch bolt. And the 17mm fits perfectly for the axle.

Sorry to trouble y’all for no good reason.
