I am in Wisconsin and it can get pretty cold hear during the winter. I am going to store my Forza in a garage that is connected the house but not heated or insulated on the outside walls. I have had soda freeze and pop the can. I have put Sta-Bil in the gas and filled the tank full. I bought a Battery Tender also. I think I will take the battery out and trickle charge it in doors. I put it up on the center stand to take some of the weight off the tires. Is there anything else I should do? Are there any fluids that I should be concerned with? I think I will buy a cover for it too so if anyone has a suggestion I would be happy to hear it.

Mine lives outside year round uncovered and I don't do any of that winterizing malarkey.

The cycle shop would have you bring the battery inside, and give it a top-up charge once or twice a month. I don't believe that anybody recommends leaving the battery on a trickle charger for the entire winter, but I could certainly be wrong. I leave the battery installed, and put a Battery Tender charger on it twice a month for about a day. The charger says the battery is happy, and I believe. I do the same with a group 24 AGM for the boat that lives in the cellar for the winter, and that will be going on its tenth season next year (I hope). With the battery installed, I can slip out if the weather breaks (and some rain has washed most of the salt from the roads).

The Sta-bil (or Startron or whatever) is probably a good idea, especially if you live in an area that ONLY has ethanol "enhanced" fuel (as I do). That stuff picks up water like there is no tomorrow, and will go stale within a month, maybe two. The other option would be to run the fuel out completely (like I do to my outboard engines), but that is pretty impractical for our scoots. I suppose you could siphon or pipet out as much gas as possible and then let it idle, but you could be waiting a loooooong time for the machine to actually run out of gas and stop.

I bought a Shed-in-a-Box from Amazon that will hold my PCX, and that is where it lives all year. Your unheated garage looks like paradise to my PCX.

No.
But I can describe it for you, it looks like every other standard white Forza.

It is fahrenheit.

For the winter, my plan is to go to my garage and start my scoot and let it run for a little bit once or twice each month. Most likely a winter ride wont be possible. Our subdivision streets will stay coated with ice and snow for most of the winter.

That's what I do. Some people grumble about it but it works ok for me

I think winter arrived this morning, it's 22 degrees out now.

I am not embarassed to walk my scooter a couple of blocks to get to the cleared main roads - then I'm o f f !
(OK, well it is pitch dark when I start most of my leisure w/e rides --- normal folks are still sleeping)
20 F. for the work commute this morning , and "feels like 9" . Yeah, well it feels like 9 if you're waiting for a bus - but if you're on the front of that bus doing 35mph it is a darn sight colder than 9!!!~!
