Are Forza 300 parts hard to get?

Post by davenowherejones »

I am waiting for parts in Hope, BC, Canada. I have worn out another belt. I went to my local dealer a few weeks ago. I am still waiting.

My dealer tells me that there are no Michelin CityGrips available for my 300 until the end of the month. I think they are on a boat from Serbia where Michelin makes them (???).

My left fork is loosing oil. I am waiting for a fork seal kit.

I can get a spark plug for $40 Canadian or wait for eBay to send me one from Britain for $21.

The Honda 10W30 Molly oil does not appear to be available in Canada. But oil filters are really cheap and available anywhere.

Brake pads are expensive at Honda but eBay ones take a while to get and are about half price.

I guess the secret is to figure out what parts I am going to need in 2 months and order them now.

Yep, as soon as I bought my Forza I laid on some of the consumables (crazy that UK, only, carries the plug!) then sold it on after exactly 365 days...with parts still in my cabinet! Can't use the oil and air filter in my CB500X! (but can the filters)

Thanks for the info but they are more expensive than the one I ordered from the UK.

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/322162601949

USA $10.43 plus $13.65 shipping gives $24.08 USA which converts to $31.18 Canadian.

The UK one was $20.84 Canadian shipped faster to my house.

Well the price is right but what makes you think this will fit a Forza? Any documents to support the theory?

Rock Auto parts listed it as alternative to NGK 4313, but as I said you should check manufacturers cross reference chart.I am not sure if it is an exact fit however.

The NGK number is LMAR8A-9_S1 for a Honda Forza 300 spark plug.

LMAR8A-9 ... NGK4313
LMAR8A-9S ... NGK 6817
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NGK-Standard-Sp ... 7#shpCntId

I think they ship to Canada for 3.00 + Don't know the x rate. Might be able to fine it in Canada under the optional numbers however.I think the numbers shown above are alternate NGK numbers, which if researched may turn up in local Canada or maybe in another brand as a cross reference. Just seems odd that you have to go 4500 miles for one spark plug, and that its cheaper than going 200 miles in the US.Check Canadian auto parts stores like NAPA and see if they can order one in for you..

OK, so the Forza Service Manual gives the plug as LMAR8A-9 and I typed LMAR8A-9S by mistake. Does anyone know what the "S" difference is? Special Gasket??? So what is different?

easyrider's eBay place gives me a plug at $17.91 Canadian delivered ($2.93 cheaper), shipping time claims to be about the same.

S stands for the standard copper core electrode?

I finally got my drive belt and my fork seals. I might put the belt on tomorrow.

I will wait until I have a round front tire before I have the fork seals done.

I am expecting my rear CityGrip in the next few days but the front is backordered.

My rear is really worn out but I probably have very little oil in my forks.

I want the tires yesterday.

Buying stuff from America has turned difficult. I'm trying to buy a fire extinguisher mount for my car. $75.88 and free shipping in the states.

Add another $57.91 (maybe, maybe not, wait till Monday...) for p&p.

Mount is only six inches long....grrrrr.

Postage used to be so easy and cheap, can't be good for the US economy.
