At Trader Joe's or Whole Foods, they sell these re-usable bags for 6 bottles of wine. I took one to TJ's the other day to re-supply.

It's a PERFECT fit!

Just yesterday I picked up two 15 packs of beer

one pack went into the trunk box plus six tins from the second case and put the rest of the opened box under the seat....I was surprized how well it fit

The battery in my Honda Accord died today, so I removed it, put in the under-seat compartment of my PCX and drove to Kal-Tire..... bought a new Die-Hard and left them the dead one.

They said they were surprized when I pulled up in my PCX, as they don't service motorcycles and said to themselves "what the heck does this guy want"

I was surprized how well it fit under the seat, as it fit like a glove...and I thought that was more stable than using the trunk box

The luggage carrier weight limit isn't really up to a car battery, or 15 bottles.

I agree about the car battery being way over the limit, but a 15 pack of beer is about 5.5 KG which is over the 3 KG (6.6 LBS) capacity limit but not that bad

I exceed the limit all the time bringing home beer and/or groceries....I guess one day I'll pay the price

Buy wine boxes and take the soft plastic reservoirs out of the cardboard.

Good idea, except that decent wine isn't sold in boxes. Not being snobbish. Try the Grifone wines from Italy from Trader Joe's; they're not much more expensive. My favorite, the Primitivo, is only $4.50/bottle, and I prefer it to MANY wines costing triple that amount.

Had a similar experience the other day when I rode into the drive-through at our local mega store. "You're obviously not after timber" said a staff member. Wrong.

A few days ago traveled a lot and did not calculate reserve fuel tank, stalled 1 mile from the gas station, while in a hurry. The question arose, where to hide 0,5-0,75 litre container of petrol. The idea the only place in the front fender from the inside. But have not tried to post.
Are there more options?

No safe solution for traveling with fuel outside your internal tank. How good would it be to have the unmentionable happen with a loose quart of fuel in the mix. Fuel, oxygen... spark!

Too bad that cannot be put in a small container, sometimes 100-200 grams of gasoline more precious than gold.

Wait... this has been discussed before and if I remember correctly there is a container specifically designed for travel in your luggage box for a small amount of petro. Someone in here bought and used it to do exactly what you want to do. I bet a little Googling will product the thermos type container I saw.

And
http://rotopax.com

I'm thinking we're all aware of the dangers of transporting petrol/gasoline. Up to you. I will say no more

In all seriousness, I think the best option is to just learn from the mistake and be more aware of your fuel state in future. I've found myself low on fuel in the middle of nowhere - best thing you can do is reduce speed; the economy at 50km/hr is probably close to double what it is at wide open throttle.

If I need to carry extra fuel then I just fill a 5l approved petrol container - leak test it by holding it upside down and pressing hard on the sides - then put it under the seat. My one is made of durable plastic - has an o-ring on the cap, and a ratchet mechanism to stop it vibrating loose. It's not going to leak fuel or fumes. A potential downside of regularly carrying extra fuel is that if it's not used/refreshed at least a couple of times a year then it'll go stale and actually create even bigger issues if you try to use it. You'd also have the additional responsibility of ensuring that whatever seal was being used didn't deteriorate over time allowing a leak.

Keeping in mind that even the older model PCX 150 with only the 6l tank has a range of over 250km at low speed - I'd be surprised if many people didn't pass a pump even with reduced range of around 120km at WOT.
