Electrical for sure one way or the other (electro magnetic or not). Must be why our brothers overseas claim it's hard on the battery. It looks like it creeps up on the firing stroke but fires early swinging back and positioning perfectly at top dead center but that's crazy without some sensor guidance and magneto assist.

Would someone care to explain this to me, Please? No pet carrier that I know of will just clip onto the top box platform without some real modifications. In Maddiedog's case, she is the copilot so she can sit up front. My dogs look at my bike and just bark when I start it up. Only Butch will ride in a crate in the back without fussing. It took a bit of modifying to get the crate to fit...and lots and lots of tie downs.

"pet carrier" is the underseat storage area. Apparently at some time in the past Vespa had a warning sticker that the storage was not to be used for carrying pets (WTF? Would anybody be dumb enough to do that that they need a warning?). On the Modern Vespa forum, some sarcastic people started to refer to it as the "pet carrier".

You know Honda could put some ports in the side panels and call it a pet carrier but for sure someone would stick their kid in there.

There's no warning against putting children in there, I see no issue...

People stick themselves in many small places...

Reminds me of the "who loves you more" joke:

Anyway back to the swingback thing.
The ACG starter motor positions the crank/piston in the optimum position for starting, and this is controlled by the ECU.

I think it always stops in the same place.

Because the ECU and ACG starter control where it stops.

Is this a standard feature on PCX’s? My 2018 doesn’t do it and I can’t find any info on it in my owners manual.

Isn't it the 2018 is the hybrid and electric models? Didn't know theyre out so fast in the market..

Yes, idle stop is a feature on pcx latest models, im not sure about 2018 models though..

homie, thanks for the video on IDLE STOP. I have such a system in summer in a little town saves fuel when standing in traffic or at traffic lights.

The swing back crank positioning is part of the idle stop system which isn't fitted to the US model.
Its not mentioned in the global model handbook either because the user doesn't need to know about it.

Don't need it.. Gas is cheap !! Saving a few cents vs the added cost does not equate for some time. Wont pay for itself if it breaks..
The newer p/u trucks are using it nowadays but they are relatively big gasoline burners when in local usage . I personally don't feature it as to me its one more thing to break and I can afford the few extra pennies for fuel.

There isn't any extra cost for the idle stop system.
If anything there are additional costs altering the normal ones for north america.

The main benefit of Idle Stop system is the pleasure of not having the engine running when you're sitting stopped.

I personally like the sound of the engine running knowing that when I hit the throttle it probably will go, but with the idle stop you just never know when you hit the throttle if its going to run . An engine running just offers a little more assurance.

Never had the idle stop fail to start my PCX instantly.
On other vehicles I have had engines cut out when moving off though...
