I started doing my own servicing at 600 miles. IMO the dealer will charge you way too much for working on a very basic machine.

Where are you located? Depending on consumer law in your country you may or may not loose your warranty by doing your own maintenance. In the USA you will not. The biggest things to check are the valves, oil, and fluid levels. At 10,000 miles I would inspect your varriator, clutch, and belt.

I can't think of any common issues with the PCX. If you stick to your maintenance schedule in your manual you should be just fine. Check out my oil change, valve adjustment, and brake cable how-to's in the forums how to section. I'll probably be making more in the near future when it comes time to change the belt, brakes, and other wear items.

Wow, that's some awesome mileage!

My opinion matches Eddie's. The how-tos on here are simple enough that anyone with simple tools can do any maintenance themselves without the help of a dealer.
