Insurance renewal

Post by Woolley »

Just had my insurance renewal quote come through. Good job ive decided to sell the bike really. Last year i paid £422 fully comp. To be fair since then i have had a car accident that is still in dispute and a car insurance policy voided, but that shouldnt really affect my bike insurance, ive still managed to build up a years no claims on my bike insurance so i was expecting around £350 maybe.

Nope, £455. I emailed them back declining funnily enough.

From what I've found, if your under 25, they ARE all crap. Every last one of them. And once they have your money they continue to treat you like crap. Insurance is the biggest scam in the world, I can't believe what they do is legal, they may as well just print their own money.

Ive got both my bikes isured on the same policy for just over £200. Having said that I'm noy undre 25!!

Young riders/drivers do have it rough over the insurance, but they are in the highest risk catagory. Worsy example of insurance quote I have come across was for my son. He wanted to buy a van valued at £850, insurance quote was for just under £5000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (He was 20 at the time)

When i was looking for insurance for my VW golf i was so amazed by some of the prices i thought id look at how much it would be for a lamborghini. It was only £1000 more, for a car worth about £100,000 more

I reckon insurance prices are calculated the same way family guy is written:

You really have to watch UK insurance companies. You give your details over the phone. Then, up to 2 weeks later, they send you a document listing all the details you gave them, along with a letter (dated 10 days before you get it) saying, if the details are incorrect, you're fucked in the event of a claim, or words to that effect.
You must read this document carefully. Because what you said over the phone, in my experience, is fuck all like what is recorded in the document.
You then have to wait until they get round to changing your details, not knowing if you're covered or not.
Yes I'm talking about you Devitt !!!

You can't blame them for getting the details wrong, I'm sure our accent sounds really weird in India.

Just renewed my policy for another year. Went from $750 for the first year down to $350 for the second. I'll take that anytime!
