Post by mac65 »

Well I'be went and done it! Replacing the PCX with a Sym GTS 300i Evo. We'll I've put the order in for the Sym. So hopefully get it with in a couple of weeks. If not I'm away on holiday for a week so might be a while till I see it. Will miss the PCX. But just wanted something a bit bigger. Will keep you posted. :D

Cool! Sym's are great bikes, you'll love it.

I'm going with a friend of mine to look at a RV250 today, funny coincidence.

Be sure to post pics up, we love scooter pics. :)

It's dark grey. It was that or black, so after having black PCX thought I would try a different colour :D Will post pics when I get it.

It would be nice if you could get proper colours rather than something from the colour pallette of 1920's cinema.
Nearly every decent maxi-scooter in the UK is white, black or shades of grey these days.

Yeah I know what you mean, very limited choice. Were obviously not allowed to have bright colours unless it's a Vespa! :D

Good luck with your Sym. I have a Sym Mio 50cc scooter. Rode about 6500km with it without problems. I like it a lot but it isn't nearly as a smooth ride as a PCX, nothing is.

I had a Kawasaki Z1300DFi which makes the PCX feel like an old tractor with an out of balance crankshaft.
It was like riding a gas turbine on a floating pillow of silk.

Meh, that's an apples-to-oranges comparison. You might as well compare the PCX to a Goldwing. Of course the giant cruiser with an assmassager and heated seats will be more comfy.

I added bar-end weights to my PCX, and dynabeads. It took a good ride and made it smooth as silk. The bars feel like an extension of my hands, it's amazing. :)

How many ounces on the bar weights? Did you do the modifications separately? Wondering how the bar weights helped out. They made a huge difference on my SV650, but I went with the heaviest ones i could find at 10 ounces each.

I have no idea how heavy they are, actually. A guy just gave them to me, he had a spare set with him on the scooter ride we went on last weekend. They're WAY heavier than the stock ones -- at least 5-10 times heavier.

Haha! well thats cool. I bet you're hands are feeling better. They helped me out with vibrations big time. Might be worth buying a set.. You can find them fairly cheap. Cheap and easy mods are the best =]
