According to MCN, Honda have developed a new, more efficient (3%) engine for the PCX for this year. The claimed mpg goes up to 133.9. I've had 132 out of my scoot before - well, it was over 131.5.

Interesting. Sounds like a minor tweak to the ECU, or an added sensor. I'd be curious how they modified it...

Revisions to the cylinder head, barrel, piston and cooling apparently.

From the first link: Positioned as a low cost scooter, the Honda PCX 125 has plenty of talk here its release in 2010, partly because of the idling stop system, close to the "stop and start" automobile. This system goes into standby mode when the engine stops in urban areas, to lower consumption and CO2 emissions. Known for its easy operation and low overall cost of operation, the PCX will inherit in 2012 of part of the Vision 110 technology and adopt the name PCX eSP.
The combustion chamber is edited, the cylinder gets a new chemical treatment, the piston is reduced and cooling with a refined nouveal heatsink / fan. Idling Stop System is of course of the game. According to Honda, performance and pleasure not change, but the average increase from 2.17 to 2.10 l/100 km. A modest, but given the low consumption of departure, it becomes difficult to progress without massive investment. The PCX 125 eSP should arrive during the summer in France as in neighboring English and the price should not move (€ 2,440).

Okay, must have missed that. I wonder what "the combustion chamber is edited" means. Maybe they changed the valve positioning or something...
