Thinking about getting a bigger bike when I move home for that reason :o

Don't you have to have a 150cc for that type of road where you are...?

Depends on the traffic I'd say. I've done it before, and it can vary between a walk in the park and a fucking deathwish. For example, I've done 30 miles of highway or so by just tagging along with a truck. But somewhere half-way, I got sandwiched between trucks, and then a truck started to overtake me! That's when you'd wish that you had 50+ hp so you could just get the fuck out of there and back into the relative safety of cagers.

I do 30 miles on 70mph dual carriageway on my commute and it's not much fun during peak traffic times but fine when the road is quieter.

Agreed. Although on my commute it's only about 3 miles of dual carriageway and the rest is 30mph town driving. But still if there's no traffic it's pretty fun but at rush hour you feel a little vulnerable.

If I am on the A1 dual carriage way in rush hour there is so much traffic at rush hour I can usually weave between cars some of the way and rarely find I cant keep up with 1st lane traffic

I do live in the states.....I'm living in Denver, CO at the moment but I will be moving back to my home state of Louisiana next month. It doesn't matter in either state what size the bike is, it just has to go the minimum speed limit of the interstate....which is 45mph I believe.

oh for 45 mph you'll be fine. The PCX easily hits 55. Sorry, when people say interstate here, it means the freeway, with a speed limit of 65. I've done it once in the middle of the night, and felt like I was going to be killed. Even for my quick 1 mile short cut that I was trying. Now I just stick to those surface streets.

You're right that the minimum speed is 45, but around here, the slowest car on I-75 usually does around 70mph. It's not safe most of the time for me to ride my PCX in that kind of traffic, but I sometimes do anyways.

I usually ride on the highway for about a mile and a half of my commute, because that part of my commute is on a highway where semi-trucks aren't allowed. The highway is only scary at 60mph with semis.

The PCX has a limiter at 60mph. We don't know if it is rev-based or ECU-based, but the prevailing theory is the ECU limits the bike electronically.

The highways I've been on in CO are wide, open, and have high-visibility. The PCX isn't designed to run for hundreds of miles on the interstate, but I wouldn't hesitate to take it on the highway as part of a commute.
