I agree with what you wrote... however... some people may not list locations for privacy reasons, or just want to boast to boost their ego and/or to over compensate for something they feel is lacking or might be part of their personality... maybe friends, a group to belong to, personality disorders and so forth.

But we'll never know and feel the best way is to just ask either in the thread or send a personal message. Always good to form a good rapport but not always possible.

This is just an opinion of mine and is very very generalized.

ENTER YOUR LOCATION WHILE REGISTERING OR SHORTLY THEREAFTER IF YOU MISSED DOING SO THE FIRST RIDE AROUND

To make life easier....You can make that happen right from here! Read on

1) first, you must sign in

2) then look up at the right corner of the page, & click the "user control panel"

3) on the next screen and in the left column, click the word "profile"

4) now shift your eyes to the right and locate the word, "location." Type yours inside the box
(Note you can fill in the other profile questions if you'd like while there)

5) once you have completed your "profile," click the "submit" button right below the birthday question

6) wait a moment till you see: "Your profile has been updated" message Yey!

7) Now, click the "board index" button (on the left above the word Options) if you wish to go to the forums

YOUR LOCATION IS NOW ENTERED. IT WILL BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED BY ALL FELLOW PCX MEMBERS. LET US NOT FORGET, THAT DAVE (maddiedog) OUR FORUM OWNER, WILL APPRECIATE YOUR COOPERATION AS WELL.

If nothing else at least the country since the bike models vary. Folks are worried about big brother I guess.

A general location would be fine. Nobody wants the address. Telephone number and mothers maiden name.

Hard to tell without Locations entered on Profiles for everyone.

There are "Tests" for that!

Technically, many forum software systems can display their location already based on the IP so there is no need to enter it manually. If fact there is a lot of information that can be gained just from the IP.

We aren't all that computer literate, it would help most members if they all took a little of their time and filled their location in.

Not mandatory but certainly helpful when answering queries.

I agree totally. I was just suggesting that there are some features on certain forum packages that can benefit technical forums like this. Location is just one of a handful of things but I am glad this forum is here because I don't ever want to run another one - it is a real pain.
