I emailed Motorcycle Superstore yesterday and asked them to consider stocking the Pirelli and/or Michelin tires. The IRC ones have served me well and are fine tires, but not having a single alternative when so many 2011 buyers are nearing replacement time is a real head scratcher.

Hey john! Good to see you here!

Haven't really even considered another brand of tire for my scooter. IMO the IRC tires are super CHEAP. I buy them from motorcycle superstore 3 at a time (2 rear one front) to save on shipping and can replace one, get it mounted and balanced, for under $50.

Another thing about buying nicer tires for my scooter is the fact that it IS a scooter. I'm not planning on doing any knee dragging or wheelies in the future. For me, it seems more practical with larger cc motorcycles. I can't justify spending the extra dough. Different tires may be a better option for someone who rides in wet or dirty conditions more times than not, but in LA with our pavement and sunshine, the IRC have been doin me just fine =)

I do, however, completely agree with you that more suppliers should carry different brands. Never even bothered looking for another brand tire in the US. You haven't been able to find any other options? Though I don't think its necessary for my specific situation, I'm sure there's still a high demand for them.

My IRCs are already completely gone on the rear after 4500 miles. I'm rather disappointed, and want to try other brands. It is frustrating that the IRC is our only option in the US though. :(

At least they're cheap though...

I agree with Fiah, wider tires should fit. I put up a tire size comparison tool here: http://hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5, you should be able to play around and do some measurements to see what fits. Be sure to report back here with results though, if you try another size! ;)
