I like that bit about, "sounds like my house is getting powerwashed" ....
How's that for timing? Mine was just got done!
Check that chore off the list! ;)

1am - Hold fast it's almost over. Dealing with 45-50 mph winds. Rain has stopped. Still have power.
Time to sleep it off

Beer. Did you stock up on beer! o_O
Beer. . . yes . . . . . .Long Trail Survival Pack and Heiniken. :D
Uhh yeah! Rum too :D
Rum . . . no. . .not today. . .have to keep my wits about me. But definitely having a couple of cold brews after all this wind dies down and I don't have to fear a tree trunk crashing into my house. Also have to get up on a ladder and check my roof shingles before I relax. Who knows what I'll find up there.

The rain is almost spent but the wind is predicted to throttle on a while longer.

I've seen everything from entire trees down to limbs to fences as I drove around a bit this morning in the cage. Except for a yard full of leaves, branches, and sticks I lucked out so far. Heavy on the "so far". The show is never over until the "Fat Lady Sings".

Come to think of it I think I may have a few Budweisers left. Maybe I'll just finish those later. o_O   :D

WN - Indeed!

Rode the good 'ol 3-Speed bicycle today down the beach. Actually someone out sailing. . .had to be at least a 30 footer. . .jib only.

Waves and white caps were relentless.

Hat and gloves pulled off the shelf for the first time since last Winter.

Invigorating weather though. . .makes one feel alive! LOL!!!

With a Full Moon he Started last evening.
Rain, thunder, sleet, snow. Flooding. Tides up. High wind warning remains in effect (gusting up to 60 mph) and sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph until 6am Saturday morn.

Trees falling, power outages everywhere. Over 2,600 flights in the storm's path were cancelled.

Favorite LINE in Young Frankenstein ?! Are you kidding!? That whole movie is one great line. Some of the lines were sutle, while others were right in your face. It is ALL great!

WN - Don't forget that roof that blew of a building at LaGuardia. o_O

It's been intense over here too.

Looking out over the shore onto the white caps and crashing waves I wonder what's beyond the obscure grey horizon.

Rain? Wind? Snow? Flooding? Could someone be out there? Why?

Why do they do it?

All I can say is "Throw off your bow line. . ."

Also, my wife's and my favourite movie!!

We were driving from Denver to Tucson one summer. Around Santa Fe, we had a blowout on one of the horse trailer tires.

Stopped on the side of I-25 with about 100F temperature trying to get the tire changed, I was in a foul mood, to say the least.

My wife walks up to me and says: "It could be worse". (I said how???) and she finished the quote - "It could be raining!"

We both cracked up and the day went a lot better.

Frau Bleucher......... whinny!!

LOL

Yes, there were a lot of subtle jokes in that movie.

Subtle remarks such as, "Nice knockers", in which Gene Wilder was talking about the big ones on the door, but Teri Garr said,"Oh, thank you."

...or whenever Frau Blücher's name was mentioned the horses would whinny because Blücher supposedly means "glue" in German.

We clearly have an entirely different meaning of subtle...
