Lake Ontario is 37 inches higher than last year. Flooding everything all the way from Toronto to Montreal. Record rain in upstate NY and Ontario all since the thunder storms began in March.

While many of us are getting more rain than we need or want, I have heard from others who wish they would get some of it. Too bad we can't move the rain around like a computer game. Then everyone could have some rain.

We had quite a cold summer and rain. Children are not to walk in the street or in the swimming pool. This weekend I went to a country house and barely caught a moment to go back to the city without rain on the PCX.

So what happens in our house when it rains for multiple Days? Here is a hint. We have 4 Jack Russell Terriers of our own and 1 visiting right now. Guess what the dog's are up to....

So the fun part is when you get to exercise and walk the dogs in the rain. . .right?

We have a dog door and a 1/2 acre back yard for them to run in. Unfortunately, when it rains some of them want to play in the rain...and then we get to clean them up and hope they don't go back outside. Such fun! Still, I love those Jack Russells.

Texas, my thoughts and prayers are with you all

Devastating. Texan folks have been slam dunked by Harvey, a catergory 4 hurricane that took landfall late this past Friday.
Today, "Harvey has weakened to a tropical storm with sustained winds of 45mph some with higher gusts. The storm will drop 15-25" of rain and isolated flooding remains a real risk."

Several people have died. Torrential Rainfall will continue. Flooding. Many homes have been destroyed, lost. More will follow as this Monster sized storm lingers for the next several day's creating havoc along it's slow moving path.

I have a weather app that keeps up with Harvey, and a notice just came through that because it is stalled some areas could get up to 40-50 inches of rain.

From the "totally off-topic" dept ... I'm currently watching "Suits" on Netflix. I'd just watched the episode where lead character Harvey Specter hit's fellow named partner Louis Litt. Then there was a headline on my usual news site the next day that said "Harvey Hits" ... I had to go into the article to see what it was all about - and discovered that it wasn't about Suits!

As of this morning the storm is emerging back into the Gulf and will gather more energy from warm waters. Over 4 ft. of rain expected in some places when all is said and done. Could be the worst storm in Texas history. Private citizens are running rescues in addition to the local and state the authorities. Therefore number of total rescues may actually exceed those reported due to the noble efforts of good neighbors and friends.

It won't be a Storm Sandy but nonetheless appears to be a potential royal PITA. Marshes are probably already flooded. Sounds like my house is getting power washed. . ..

Glad I stocked up on canned food and potato chips.
