The seal was knackered mate, water ingress and road grime/grit. No fix other than replacement would fix it.

As promised here's some pictures of fitting the new engine pack. I used the throttle body, radiator, variator, belt and clutch from the bike original engine as they were known to work and in better condition.

Replacement engine after checking the valve clearances, they were spot on, its a very clean engine from the look of it.

Bolting the engine onto the frame.

Complete with all umbilical's and cables connected. At this point the engine was filled with oil and coolant, it started first prod.

Bodywork going back on, you can see the engine case/drive from the damaged engine in the background.

Complete, at this point the exhaust was removed and repainted and the front forks removed and new seals fitted, my son took those pictures on his phone, he's now gone home and I don't have them, it was all straightforward.

Today he finished bike with my son about to leave to go home and 3 hr ride!

Hopefully that brings this saga to a close. :D :D

I'm amazed how you and others such as Maddie Dog can strip down and re-build the bike to that level - having, so far, only changed the oil (and I find that's tricky getting my hand in the small space) :)
Well done and hope it gives no more issues.
