Honda Pcx 150 with smart Key and battery dead

Post by Seriosha »

Hi, my pcx has battery dead and since it's a smart key model I cannot open the seat to remove it, anyone know how to use the plastic keys they provide to solve the problem?
Thanks

Take the cover down, insert the hex end of the key and turn it upright.

Excellent! We should all make hidden releases for the luggage box that don't require a key for those who keep locking their key under the seat :D Especially since that's where the battery is located.

Soooo, the new models are so much different than the older ones that you can't just put the key in and turn it?? Interesting. So, if you go for a ride and your battery dies you have to go through several more steps than you do on the older models, just to jump start it? I think I like the older model better. I guess that with the keyless one you have the convenience of just jumping on, pressing the start button, and going. However, you had better not ever have any kind of battery problems, even in the key fob.

PCX's might be suffering the technology curve.. like TV's and camera's. TV's and camera's became really complicated before they got really smart and user friendly. Now you just speak to the remote, go anywhere on the web, youtube or programming, local channel, movie or settings you wish. If you bought a complicated camera, TV or PCX just wait and buy another at a later date

The user manual on a new big screen is like a piece of paper folded in half and half of that is another language. If there is anything more you need to know... just ask the remote.

Thanks d.a.rous I managed to open it and solve the seat problem, now my remote stopped working too so need to solve it before trying, no more light on the remote and I changed two batteries without results ( cannot find cr3020 so had to try with cr2025 that was using before) maybe some electric problem on the key side.

I would have thought that they would use the standard CR2032 that most of the car remotes use. :-/

it will only work with the cr2032. You can find them on ebay.

Target and Walmart have them as well. If you want to, you can even get some on amazon. Since most car remotes use them, they should not be hard to locate.
