Oil at 1000kms

Post by cmvidini »

Hi,

New PCX purchased 9 months ago. Topped up Hondas "NEw Engine Oil" with Synthetic a few months ago.

Now I've hit 1200kms (SErvice overdue). Should I do a complete Oil change or will a topup suffice please?

Thanks everyone.

The 1st oil change at approx 600 miles (whatever in kms) is the most important as small fragments of metal often come off into the oil and are trapped by the oil screen. There are tutorials on this site with pics explaining what to do.

Thanks Iceman.

Should I also consider cleaning the Oil Screen / Replace Oil Filter?

Yes, clean the screen (this should be the dirtiest it's ever going to get), but there is no actual filter.
