Re: Belt and roller change

Post by Jge64 »

This is a very good thread. I have read the other how to's on the sliding weights & the variators and other things, and my situation is a bit different, I want better acceleration and will sacrifice the top end, so I assume 13 Gm slider (per Mel) will work well?

Mel?

Thanks!

Dear best-buyer,

Hi I have checked the parts catalog for pcx 125 from 2009 to 2014.
Also pcx 150 from 2012 to 2014 and they are the same part number/model number and batch number.. 19 grams per weight 20mm x 15mm . 22123-KWN-900
The pcx range share a lot of the same components, some components have been revised but will still fit early models.
I use a pcx 150 2012 model but use the 2015 weights ...22123-K36-TOO the same part number different model number and batch number because they are 15 grams each . The first number is the part number- the second reference to model-then batch.
Parts are revised all the time the first numbers are unique to a particular part.
There are a lot of models that share the same parts, its like lots of different bikes share the same tire's and there can be many different brands to fit the same bike.
I always try to cross reference as much as possible.
Than you
Mike

The stock roller weight for the Honda PCX is 15g.
Is it TRUE ?

My 2013 USA PCX150 had 18 gm weights and I changed to 12 gm DrPulley sliders which made the pulling rpm ideal at 8,000 with the original variator and 7,900 rpm when I replaced the variator and belt with Honda parts. The power peak is around 8,300 rpm so even these 12 gm weights are not too light.

I have 13gm rollers on my 2013 pcx 150. Top end is either about the same or a little bit less. However, acceleration really increased, enough so that I no longer worry about catching up with my wife's pcx when she takes off from a light, or we start climbing a hill. Even if my top end drops to 55 mph on a hill, as does my wife's, I can kick butt getting up to that 55 mph.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCC*************

Thats REALLY killing me ! So many parts numbers for the Honda belts ! No explanations ! No dimensions ! No length !

Thats really sucks !

23100-KZY-701 I see this one from PCX 150 probably this one is longer ?
23100KWN711 i see this on my PCX 125 ESP 2013
23100KZR601 I know this will fit PCX 125 ESP 2013
23100KWN901 I see this on my Non EsP 2011

All of them are belts

ALSO Blubayou sad

They are identical in dimensions he is ABOUT 23100KWN901 I see this on my Non EsP 2011 and this 23100KZR601 I know this will fit PCX 125 ESP 2013

I changed my drive belt today, using a Honda 23100-KWN-901.

Is this the correct belt for the 2013 UK spec 125?

The new and old belts are shown in the picture below.

They are identical in dimensions but carry different part numbers.

I bought NCY rollers. I hope to buy and install the NCY variator and drive face also. But first I have to install the 13gm rollers in my wife's pcx as well. Both are 2013 pcx 150's.

Hi Candy Red,

The replacement belt has made no difference to performance whatsoever.

It is exactly the same as when fitted with the original 9000 mile old belt, so Honda's guidance of 15'000 mile changes seems fair.

My rollers however are original (17g) and are quite heavily flat spotted.

I have been playing with roller weights recently to no avail, I will report back later.

I would suggest Mr Honda knows how to set his bikes up for a good mixture of performance with economy.......

Like I tell my wife, my little pcx may not get up to as much top end as the big boys do, but it gets up to its little top end fast. It pulls its little heart out and gets where it can as fast as it can. Now that I have the 13gm rollers in, it runs great, so I highly recommend them.

Like I said above the diff to me is a lot stronger "pull" from 0-5 mph, which is where I need it in south Florida traffic.

Totally agree. It is what it is and it does what it does fantastically. Want something else, get something else
