Black rubber tube coming out of the bottom cover

Post by mak100 »

Hi All, newbie question here.

I am pretty new to riding and I have bought a PCX 125, 2012 last week. Yesterday I hit the bottom of the scoot really hard as the the ground is uneven to our driveway. There were some scratches as expected but the weird thing was a black rubber tube coming out of a hole on the bottom cover (sorry if that stuff has a technical name). The tube wasn't damaged or cut and the hole on the bottom cover was looking like it was always there. Obviously, it looks a bit odd but I am not sure if that is a real issue and if I need to take the scooter to a Honda service. I'd appreciate if you guys give me any idea on what that rubber thing can be?

Thanks,
Mehmet.

Its the drain from the rubber gaiter around the fuel filler.
Any fuel spillage goes down this pipe and onto the ground.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

Thank you! Is it OK if I leave it as it is or should I just push it back inside?

I 2nd that. You want it dangling so spilled fuel doesn't drip from the fuel filler area into your plastics...

Thank you all for your help! This forum should be another reason to buy a PCX.
