Motor engine oil

Post by ewing65 »

Hi, I am new here at the forum. I have a question I travelled 70 miles from home, I checked my oil only to find it was very nearly empty. I knew i needed 10w-30. but only had 10w 40 at the house i was staying so used that.
I could not buy any as the motorcycle shop was closed as it was sunday and the car accesorie had a range of oils but not the one i wanted.
Will this cause any problems? it was a synthetic oil.
The bike is due its 2nd service at 4 500 miles its at 3 600 now. So will have an oil change then.

You should be fine. The oil will protect just as well, and Honda actually recommends 10w40 for warmer climates. I wouldn't ride with that oil in there below freezing though.
