Engine stalled

Post by logepoge1 »

I was turning left from a stoplight and when I tried to take off I believe the engine stalled. I was twisting the throttle and was barely revving. Finally it took off like normal and I rode just fine. Gonna bring by dealership and ask what they think problem is

Maybe you didn't give it enough throttle or didn't release the brake?
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

I didn't buy it from the dealership. I bought it used but the 2 year extended warranty transfers. I'm gonna check spark plug and stuff but it is dangerous when this stuff happens when I am turning from a non intersection road onto main road and it just stalls

Can you make it happen at will? Or is it once in a blue moon type of things? Either way get it checked out before it gets worse. Good luck to you.

Hasn't happened again I don't really understand what even caused it. Have taken off at lights plenty of times with no issues

Check spark plug gap.

Had this happened to me, could actually replicate it too. Fast blip of throttle while idle right between the piston firing. I think it was flooding the engine. But my plug gap had expanded. Can't replicate any longer.

Is there an instruction here to do this and how do I do this?

The owners manual has all you need. It's a small area to get at, I had a spark plug socket and I ended up turning it with a wrench.

guys i have the same problem the last two years. it happens to me once a time per 200-250 km.. I have changed air filter, spark plug,I have cleaned the throttle body and today I changed the iacv...it is my last chance.. after that if stalls again, I must check or replace the ecu..my warranty has expired.. i have opened a topic here.. (my pcx stalls under 20km). I describe the ways when my engine stalls..if you have any other idea please let me know..

Have you checked the valve clearances? That can cause stalling issues in a single-piston engine like the PCX.
Currently ride: 2011 Honda PCX 125 - Upgraded windshield and seat, keeping this one mostly stock
Previously rides: 2005 V-Strom DL650, 1974 Vespa Ciao, 2011 Honda PCX 170 (tons of mods - takegawa 170cc big bore kit, gears, etc), 1996 Honda Nighthawk 250, 1987 Honda Spree, 2000 KTM 125SX, 2003 Honda Silverwing, 2007 Genuine Buddy 125, 1998 Honda PC800, 2008 Buddy 125 (white), 2008 Buddy 125 (red), 2001 Honda Reflex, 1987 Honda Elite, 1988 Honda Spree, 2007 Yamaha Vino, 2007 Honda Metro, 2x 125cc pure-chinesium dirt bikes

I haven't done this yet. Will do at 2,500 mile service. Really close to that. I bought the feeler guages the other day so I have what I need. Checking spark plug gap when I go home later and get the right sockets

If anyone is wondering, it is 16mm. Will be changing it tonight but looks like the tops part of plug that connects to wire was dirty. It only has 1700 miles on it but almost 2 years old so it wont be a bad fix.

Unfortunately, every autoparts store was out of these spark plugs, and that includes Advance Auto Parts who called Oreilly and Autozone for me. I finally went to dealership and paid $7 for plug but wanted to change today

Yeah these plugs are not common, hard to find, I bought out the entire amazon.com supply when I bought my scooter. They have since replaced supply, but it's very limited.
