PCX125 Exhaust Port Torque

Post by Steve W »

Hi all,

Can anyone please tell me the torque settings for the 2 dome headed nuts on the exhaust ports of my 125?

I had to remove the back wheel for a tyre change and am now ready to refit.

Just do it up with a normal socket set till it feels right.

Don't you have a torque wrench? It'll be pretty low. Let me know and I'll tell you from the manual

Yes, Like chainsaw says, It is 29nm or 21ft Lb in the manual.
And a new gasket is required.

While it can be done up snug until it feels right, but if you're asking, then you must have the proper tools.... Bravo

Haven't used a torque wrench (as a torque wrench) for nearly three decades.
Never stripped a thread and never had a bolt come undone in all that time.
Stripped a few threads with said torque wrench though... which is why I stopped using it as such.

All done......properly.

As an aircraft engineer I do find it difficult not to use the correct kit. Sorry gn2

Thanks to all who replied. :)

Same here. I've got 3 different torque wrenches in various sizes. Theres loads of alloy stretchbolts on cars now that have to be torqued then turned to a specific angle to be sure they are not overtightened.
They are calibrated every 6 months to check for accuracy.

I suspect gn2 has one the low buck lever pointer torque wrenches which is why he now uses it as a breaker bar

Last time I looked the PCX wasn't an aircraft .....
My torque wrench was a cheapie but its not one of the bendy lever things.
