Cheers indeed!

A little history about the Pilgrims. I was fortunate enough to visit here and it brought some clarity to all the stories I read in the history books growing up. :geek:

What some people don't know, because history is being forgotten, is that Jamestown, Virginia was the first permanent English settlement. It was established in 1607. Still, coming to a strange place that has no protection from the elements and unknown dangers and setting up a town is extremely difficult... and very, very scary. To all of the pilgrims of the past I say, "Thanks you."

Funny and True, He spotted the cutlery!
Leftovers? Share?

So, I've read/heard that a Deep Fried Turkey is the Best. Tastier, tenderer and the fastest way to get the job done. It's dangerous though (saw a video) :o OIL!! .... Boiling Oil!

I put a certain amount of water in the baking tray, cover in foil and as cooking progresses, and the natural fluids come out, I remove some of the fluid. I then uncover and brown at the end.

Cook from a cold oven and allow 20 minutes at the end to settle.

We deep fried a couple over the years. Very tasty and very fast, but LOTS of oil that you have to do something with. The first time, we made doughnuts afterwards - what the heck, we had gallons of hot oil. If you choose to repeat, I strongly suggest making the doughnuts first. While the dog enjoyed turkey doughnuts for a week or so, the humans did not.
On my scoot, getting there is WAY more than half the fun!

but please, don't delete anybody, no matter how badly they deserve deleting :)
