I know a recently retired fireman who has attended many motor vehicle accidents over the years,
and he tells me seat belts have made his job a lot less messy.

Re: Speeding tickets...
I commuted for about 15 years on an Interstate Highway early in the morning to start work at 7:00AM. I remember a lot of tractor trailer trucks that had gone off the road just as dawn was approaching. For some reason the drivers were OK driving at night but as daylight started to emerge over the horizon some who had been fatigued would get sleepy and doze off. Not sure if it's true or not but that's what someone told me. No skid marks. . .just evidently fell asleep at the wheel. Felt sorry for those guys and gals.
One time a 40 footer pulled out to pass me and got only about half way by when he signaled to resume in the travel lane and I had to pull into the breakdown lane to avoid getting crushed. I could see his signal lamp on the cab flashing as the box was drifting into my lane. Fortunately no one else was around. . ..
