Yes, I remember those days. All I have left is memories, but there are a lot of young people who never will understand what that time was all about. I was in the military during Woodstock, but not in Viet Nam. I was able to enjoy the music when it was being made. So many great bands, so much great music!

Jimmy Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughan. . .nobody will ever replace them. Stevie Ray was from a different era but the man could play. . ..

Hendrix - "Little Wing" https://vimeo.com/138154323

Vaughan - "Little Wing" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=An4uDegHB8s

Joan continues to continue. . .

It all comes down to the soul. 8)

One more pic. This is what the entrance to the Bethel Woods Museum and Concert area looks like now. . ..

It's at the top of the hill so-to-speak and as you progress further into the grounds you can view down across the field towards the pile of rocks where the original stage was back in '69.

Back in the summer of 69 we had our own version of Woodstock a week later, at a place in Paradise Valley about 10 miles north of here, not so widely known as it's big brother, but a pretty big deal for a small town young buck.
On the first day, within hours the bikers started streaming in,everyone with a chapter within one days ride were on their way. The Hells Angels,Satan Angels,101 Knights,Tribesmen. The guys in the Vic Tanny muscle shirts who were security disappeared and the admission gate and fence flattened, pretty well an anything goes free for all after that.
Some tense moments that weekend and some bands jammed out,but for the most part the show went on. For me the Chalmers Brs singing Time, and the lead singers voice and the tic tock percussion echoing off the mountains were a highlight.
Drove by the site last week to deliver rock and soil in my KW to a homeowner and ironically where we were getting our ya ya's out is now an idyllic outdoor school where young primary school kids are bussed in to learn abut nature.
Enough of my glory days, but on the final day of the festival I was talking to a a young lady who said all in all things went pretty well, bikers and all, but she added some of the local yahoos were a little hard to take. I can still picture those guys and knew them well.

Of all the anniversary Woodstocks, the one that stands out to me had to be the 25th anniversary in 1994 (Mudstock?).
It was pretty crazy. Apparently Woodstock 1999 and 2009 were a big deal, but I never heard or saw anything from them.
So I guess the next big one will be 2019 for the 50th anniversary. After seeing 1994, I'm not out there enough for that stuff.

Might be a little far out for you but some of the older crowd might be able to sit through this.
I guess you had to be there.

The crowd I hung with were more into the music than crowd surfing etc.
But as you say I'm younger than that now. Note quite Green Pepper though.

I was in Woodstock but not at Woodstock during that time. Wasn't worth the hassle and fighting the crowds and traffic just to get high and laid was not my bag.. especially when I was getting more at home anyway ??? LOL

Eeezy rider. Alrighty then! To the point!

@ relic I'm Lovin' the flashbacks music man. That version of the Chamber Brother's "Time Has Come Today" sits in my mp3 player with others from that time period/era. Tic-Tock, Tic-Tock.
Sticks with ya, for days. Another that glues on is Steppenwolf's, Born to be Wild. The Byrd's? Soo good! We had it all. The great bands, groups, and individual singer's!
Were you ever in a band?

Would you step back in time if just for the music?
Indeed "I" would.

Go on....Slide another LP on, cause I'm listening 8)

"Time it was
and what a time it was,
a time of innocence
a time of confidences

Long ago it must be
I have a photograph
Preserve your memories
They're all that's left you"

Yes, what a time it Was.
