Songs in the Key of Life

Post by WhiteNoise »

I've been hearing this song lately in a commercial, which one I don't know because frankly I don't care what's being advertised. It's the song and the voice that is so captivating, calming yet haunting to me.
I want to ride the countryside listening to this song and that voice!
My fear is I may never return :P Would ya's miss me?

Don't give up! The singing starts at 2:20

From the movie "Paint Your Wagon" released October 15, 1969 with Lee Marvin, Clint Eastwood and Jean Seberg. Adapted from the Musical version from 1951.
 I saw the movie, but can't really remember it.
My Mom, (who just turned 90 Oct. 4th) loves this movie and Any movie with boyfriend Clint in it :D

It's my new Riding Song. Enjoy

My kids went through their earlier life thinking John Wayne was their grandad and Clint Eastwood and Burt Lancaster were their uncles :) :D :D :D

Paint your wagon was great as was Camelot and South Pacific ☺️

Awesome song and vid - I loved it! The line "mules are made to pack" reminded me of my trip this summer to the Grand Canyon - here's a pointless vid I made comparing my mule to my old Ninja 300 that some of you two-wheelers may enjoy :D

I did enjoy this video  but rather I ride a ninja though a hurricane than hobble along on a cliff waiting for a rock to fall on my head or snake to spook my mule. That was a ballsy ride brother and it completely scared ME! The end is really scary because I had the volume up so high to hear you.... then o_O

Thanks homie - sorry about that sudden burst of noise at the end :D I should try to edit that last half second out - I guess I hit the camera's mic or something. This was actually one of the tamer parts of the ride where we were basically very close to the bottom of the canyon already as we neared the Colorado River. The parts where we were rapidly descending/ascending switchbacks was the scary part - there was one spot coming down that our guide said was called "Jesus Corner" which I can say is very aptly named :D One of these days I'll upload the scary parts of the video.

This is someone else's vid of "Jesus Corner" I found on YouTube to give you an idea of the terrifying parts :D

Even though it was scary I would still highly recommend the mule ride to the bottom of the canyon and staying at the phantom ranch - it was absolutely beautiful down there.

I was going to look for a classic tonight on TV but Woodlawn is calling me out to the theater... I always support the Christian effort.

I call your Sara song and raise you one :D

Speaking of Starship, I saw them perform your Sara song at a mini-concert at EPCOT Food & Wine festival a couple years ago :D They were actually pretty good and I even took a pic - it's amazing to me all the old crap I still have on my phone! Here is my concert review :D

Jane (awesome)
Sara (very good)
Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now (gag)
White Rabbit (awesome)
Somebody To Love (very good)
We Built This City (ugh)

Your linky no worky - but here's a Stevie version I found - pretty good til creepy blue vest man shows up at 3:50 - looks like Weird Al Yankovic on heroin :D I couldn't think of any others so I googled for more and there's nothing left really - just some relatively obscure songs by Bob Dylan, Thin Lizzy, and Genesis :D
