Really John? You've got the same gadget? Wait till I tell me Mom! She'll be gleaming. If her name were Mary, she'd be Proud. (Oh, that was bad. Get it? "Proud Mary?" So many songs flow around in my head All. Day. Long. What's that about anyway?) Whatever.

Tooling time. We shall enjoy cracking our bolts now! add another -->

Reminds me of a joke...

Wife: can you come and get me, my car won't start
Man: have you run it out of fuel again?
Wife: no, its got water in the carburettor this time
Man: how can you tell that, you know nothing about mechanics?
Wife: it rolled into the canal when I forgot to put the parking brake on
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

WhiteNoise,

I don't know what that 'square-to-round' rubber thing is but I certainly could use a couple. I have a hammock that is on a stand. The stand is square tubes. I bought a sun shade to go over it, and darned if the shade doesn't use a round frame! Now I have the problem of putting a round peg in a square hole! I think that I will get a big dowel rod and duct tape it between the two! Duct tape fixes everything :P

Mel Sorry that piece is hard plastic and small, not big enough for your required application.

Yer in a pickle so I did some googling for you. Always something to stop progress right? P.i.t.a.!
I tried to attach what I found, google won't let me, soooo

Ok, You try it. Type in googles search bar: steel adaptor square to round tube
After the page pops up, click above (on that page) googles "image button."
I saw do it yourself ideas (similar to yours?) :D and buy it items. Take a big look around.

What size adapter/convertor are you seeking 1.5", 2", or .....
Anywho, I hope you find what you're looking for from that page forward. Come back and let me know, cuzz I loves this improvise fixit stuff 8)

Duct Tape?   Wait!! What Color?? White?

Oh! I didn't think anyone made adapters for my problem! I will measure the diameters and go from there. If I find something I will let you know about it. Unfortunately... or maybe fortunately...I just took the hammock down because we will start moving to our new house in mid May, and we don't want to forget anything. We have been here almost 14 years, so it is quite possible that something will be left behind.
