Cigarette lighter

Post by Woolley »

Is it ok to leave a charger constantly plugged in to the cigarette lighter in my car? It's a tiny USB to cigarette lighter adapter and even when the cars off it shows a charging light. I thought it would be easier to plug and unplug a USB instead of different car chargers all the time. There's a cover that slides over it so leaving it showing for thieves isn't a problem, I'm just wondering if it'll drain my battery and thought someone on here might know.

It'll drain your battery very slowly. Less than half the drain of leaving an interior light on.

If you drive the car every other day, you should be alright. Plus, your VW has a stickshift, so you can always bump-start it.

D'oh. Never mind then. I thought it was a manual for some reason. Maybe I was getting it confused with your Astra... Or if your Astra wasn't a stickshift, maybe I should pay more attention.
