Royal Enfield

Post by PCX150Rider »

Somebody in my town bought one of these recently and has been riding it around. They always caught my eye. There were two dealerships in my state that carried them and it didn't appear they were flying off the showroom floors. Not sure why. . .but they have a certain vintage appeal that takes us back to days of yore where the fountain pen you carried was a status symbol and the 5 cent candy bar was huge. :D

FYI. . .a video is worth a thousand words. . .or something like that! :?

You can never have enough motorcycles or scooters. ;)

Well. . .if you get past having a different one to ride for each day of the year then it may start becoming just a little excessive. We should all be so lucky eh? :o  8)

That is beautiful. I stated on something similar, a Yamaha FS1E. Still have a photo in the garage.

My first bike was a 1972 Suzuki TC90. It had 8 speeds. There were 4 low for trail and 4 high for street. I could get 60 MPH out of it.

The Royal Enfield Bullet is the longest production run of any motorcycle ever.
It has been made since 1931, so that accounts for the vintage appeal.

There is a Euro4 version with discs front and rear, ABS, EFI and on-board diagnostic facilities.
A proper modern bike?
Well no, it still retains all the character of its antecedents.

Years ago Royal Enfields were rebadged as Indian for the US market, quite amusing given that it later became an Indian company.

They sell a huge number of bikes, they shifted 660,000 in 2016-17
