I probably wont even notice anyway, as i'm used to Scooters, i'll be concentrating more on actually using gears anyway.

Levers were out of stock (told me 2 days after purchasing them!) so bought another set....
also some better looking foot pegs, and the tail tidy.

Got most of the bits for the MSX which is coming on Tuesday, had to wait nearly a week for a Cheque to clear!!
just waiting for the Belly Pan now and the Reflector for the Number Plate....
also got yet another email saying the black Levers were out of stock but luckily the Seller had red ones which I actually prefer.

No, CBT Certificates are valid for Automatic or Manual Bikes....
when my CBT expires in June/July (cant remember which) i'll go in for my full test,
and then get the L-Plates off, i'll keep the MSX for awhile just to get more used to it all as I wont be riding too much in the next few months due to Winter weather,
but i'll hopefully get something with a little more power then for the Motorways.

I hope we can see the bike after the plates and "L" oser sign. They should adjust the license crap to the vehicle size.

Got it lastnight, spent the day putting the bits on, throttle grip was a pain in the backside as I had to shave the plastic bits off the throttle tube!!! everything else was pretty much easy... not sure which bolts need to come out to fit the belly pan though so waiting for instructions to be emailed! just got a windshield, cylinder cap and crash pegs to come...

First ever time on a manual Bike, plus setting off up a hill, stalled about 10 times! went up the street to my Brothers house, stalled a few times setting off from there and then went back down to my house....
adjustable levers as well, finding it hard to find the 'biting point' and the revs and which number is best for the lever to be on....
started to annoy me then so I came in lol will test it in the garden tomorrow, just to get used to it, loud exhaust though in a quiet street so not the best place but ah well.

I dropped the pan, pulled the piston, polished the rod... you're something special o_O try to get my woman to change the vacuum cleaner bag

Haven't been out yet, going to see if it isn't raining tonight and hopefully go tonight with less cars around... been windy as hell today though!

Waiting for my Stepdad (Electrician) to check my front Indicators because the ones I bought have a different end connection to what's already on the Bike...
also waiting for some instructions from numerous Chinese eBay Sellers to tell me which brackets go onto which part of the Engine to mount the Belly Pan,
checked it twice and there are 4 brackets, 2 the same and 2 different, can't seem to find out which goes where, need someone else to help hold the other side up maybe....

Everything else I did though, foot pegs, mirrors, crossbar, phone mount, levers, grips (throttle side took ages as I had to shave down the throttle tube!) and the tail tidy with rear indicators are sorted as well,
oh and my Spider-Man dust caps lol

Just waiting on a windshield, cylinder cap and crash pegs to come from Taiwan.... and I have some red mesh as well which I might put in replace of the triangle side panel bits.

Orange Indicators have to come off though!! but yeah... wait for my Stepdad to check the wiring....
black BellyPan for underneath too just to hide the colour of the Pipe really as I think they look horrible after awhile once used....
might eventually getting different Bars but at the moment i'll stick with the stock and the Crossbar on them...
and the Windshield I got coming is black, black Cylinder Cap and red Crash Pegs...
plus i'll be getting a new Seat as well (more comfier) which will be black and red.

Just got back from my first proper ride.... was ok, it's still just setting off from a complete stop,
got stopped at a traffic light, stalled, Car behind me so let him go, light turned red, did the same thing again, with another Car,
third time I did it....

had to stop a couple more times and stalled first off, it's actually really annoying me..
a friend of mine is going out with me tomorrow on his Bike,
going to be during the day/early evening so going to be Cars around,
think I need more practice in a open area first and get used to setting off from a complete stop more instead of going out on public roads so soon,
I just keep stalling all the time and it's REALLY annoying me, badly lol

You need to practice using the clutch without giving the engine gas. Find that friction point and let the bike roll on its own.

Yep I can do that... just dont think im giving it enough throttle... it has a Tyga exhaust without a baffle which is loud, so to me it just seems weird.....

Can I rev the Bike high'ish and slowly let the Clutch go? as at the moment i'm letting the Clutch out and giving it a bit if Throttle, and stalling a lot..... can I give it even more Throttle with the Clutch fully in and then slowly let it go while holding the Throttle at a higher rev?

You could do that as well, but it may lead to jerky takeoffs.

I also stalled a few times when I first got a geared bike. Number one reason for stalling was I was actually in 2nd gear instead of 1st. That's why I say tap down lots, then when you think you're in 1st, tap down some more to be sure.

The Grom has a tiny, weak engine. Even less power than a PCX. It is very easy to stall. Give it more throttle. Maybe 4000 rpm. Then SLOWLY and steadily start letting out the clutch until you move off and the speed matches the rpm so the slipping stops. At this point you can finish releasing the clutch. Practice in a parking lot until you get it. Wait 30 seconds between each attempt so you don't burn up the clutch from just starting off again and again.

Times up... what are you doing!

Do this;
pull clutch and hold it
start engine
get in first gear, that's all the way down on the shifter
set your throttle at a reasonable rpm and HOLD it there
now focus on the clutch lever ONLY maintaining the RPM
do not let the clutch all the way out when the bike starts to move
just hold that clutch lever right there until the bike is up to speed
now pull the clutch in and shift UP and repeat
just (ride the clutch) until you get the hang of this

you are letting go of the clutch the second you surge (popping the clutch) no good

oh yeah, if obstruction presents itself PULL CLUTCH AND BRAKE THE BIKE!

I can set off good a lot of the time, what sendler said is what I was after, as I was doing it at about 2k revs..... again, because of the LOUD exhaust it felt weird to me revving it higher to take off, but as he said rev to 4k so i'll try that today... I know everything else, was obviously just not giving it enough throttle, the exhaust is off putting.
