I saw a few comparison articles on the larger scooters vs the new auto motorcycles including the NC and the author always preferred the scooters. One article compared a BMW 650 scooter with a NC 700 DCT and he hands down liked the scooter better. I test rode a NC700 DCT at my dealer because they didn't yet have a CTX700 with DCT and I would not trade my Forza for one despite costing more. The CTX is more geared towards touring with a lower CG and seat height than the NC but still the same basic feel I think. I keep looking for something better to upgrade to but have not found it yet. The Forza is really a PCX on steroids but not too heavy at 422 lbs. It rides a lot better with the longer wheelbase and wider tires. I use my PCX primarily to haul for camping.

The forza and ctx are not available in SA. I do ultimately want to do some light off-road touring, which the NC is more suited to with its higher clearance. I'm busy saving up for some off road tyres and a bash plate, then I'll be good to go.

Yes - I need a play bike as well for rough and off roads. I kind of like the Triumph Tiger that one guy is using in Alaska but will probably end up with a Yamaha TW200 for our milder wilderness here since i have owned three of them in the past. 200cc doesn't really cut it for mixed touring/offroad, though, with the limited top end. Lots of decisions. :P

The Triumph Tiger is really setup for some rough terrain. You can switch off the ABS rear tire for off-road.

Nice looking bike. The fuel economy on fuely.com is pretty bad though at around 19km/l. I'll stick with my NC at 28km/l

Yes the 2014 tigers are not known for fuel economy most triples are not . I get around 44 mpg best I have ever seen is 46. Triumph did remap the ECU and has ride modes reportedly improves mpg but it's doubtful it would ever rival the NCs mpg. Whole different power curve and delivery.

They claim fuel mileage is up 20% for the new model but I never really look at it at $2 US something a gallon here and our bikes are strictly toys. We don't commute on them. I am more interested in range and want at least 200 miles on a tank with a bit of reserve if possible for touring and fun trips.

Your range of 200 + is doable on my bike so the new models would be even better with projected mid to upper 50s mpg city ridding. Like most of us have found its how much your into the throttle. Test rode the NC 700 and had issues with power delivery and the seat but have not tried the 750. Innovative design though. The tiger's comparison is more suited to BMWs F8

I tried the NC as well and sat on the CTX. Neither is for me but I can see the appeal for some. The CTX seat is lower than the NC but still not perfectly comfortable. I am sure it can be updated. Did you have the NC in Sport mode?

Ive done two tanks now, where the fuel gauge starts blinking smack on 300km (about 300miles) from reading NC forums, most reports says it has approx. 80km of reserves after it starts blinking.

I had the bike at 150km/hr briefly today. I have no issues with its power curve, as I chicken out on the throttle, before the bike did. I haven't tested the power curve on steep off road knarleys yet.

150km/h is starting to move right along on a bike. I think I read they will do another good bit faster but.... o_O Too fast for me without a big metal box around me. :P

I started talking to some local riders about an adventure bike like the Triumph Tiger and some are pushing the NC700 DCT as a viable alternative. Not all of the features but a lot more cost effective.

I just did a 4day river rafting trip down the orange river, where you camp on the river banks every night. They give you two buckets to put all your own personal gear into, which I used as a good opportunity to test out my kit I would be using if I ever do a biking trip.

Here's my small hiking tent, which I was using without its fly. Its a pretty compact hiking tent, which can stand with two poles and four pegs at a minimum. Theres also lots more pegs and guy ropes to use if the weather turns sour. One bucket kept all my sleeping gear. Groundsheet, tent, down sleeping bag, sleeping bag liner and self inflating mattress. The other bucket held my clothes, toiletries, headlamp, etc.

Some guy brought one of these instead of doing the old fashion squat.

The orange river is the border between South Africa and Namibia. On the Namibia side, there was this abandoned diamond mine. It was cheaper to abandon the equipment there, then to cart it out of the desert.

The footprint is supposed to be smaller than the tent floor so water doesn't run between it and the tent.

The rafting looks great/I've done a little rafting myself and got scared straight up in Alaska the last time.

Nice setup Sendler and on a Ninja at that!!!

When I get the new mount and wire adapter from AdMore for my Givi V47 so I can shift it back and forth from the Forza to the V-Strom I will take a picture. It doesn't have a lick of storage without at least one of those cases on board.

There are a few rural people living on the banks of the river. The grass is kept short by their domestic livestock. Goats, cows, etc.

That setup would be tough for me to do, as my girlfriend would complain about having to sit on the bag  .I already have a set of Givi panniers and top box, but I haven't tried fully loading it yet for two up camping.

The rafting is more of a booze cruise, with the biggest rapid being grade 2.

Nice bike DAB. I'm also looking at a waterproof bag route, except, they'll be smaller with one on top of each pannier for two up riding.

Its a long weekend coming up, and I have a 400km route planned, which will take me to Paarl for a friend's 60th birthday, Then to Stellenbosch for a cheese and wine festival, then to Onrus for a day at the beach. All two up riding on the NC750x. Luckily we'll have accommodation everywhere , so can pack light.
