2003 Buell Blast

Post by ese12105 »

Found a 2003 Buell Blast while surfing good old craigslist... Anyone have any input? Anyone like Buell? I like the looks of the bike, shouldn't need too much work, and asking price is $800.

Thanks guys!

Might become a collector's item in years to come.
It's a bit agricultural and the name is almost certainly a joke.
If what you want is a single cylinder tractor for the road it looks to me like good value if it's all in top order.
If it needs parts that could be quite difficult...

Well they're named after Eric buell and they're made by Harley Davidson... Seems pretty economical, and I've had no trouble finding parts online after a quick search.

They're really torquey little bikes, with really good response...

But, they're Harleys. So they break down a lot, run hot, and burn the hell out of oil. If you get it, make sure you bring oil with you on long trips and check the oil every time you fill up. Parts are common for the drivetrain, because it is shared with other Harleys.

They say the best way to tell when a Harley is out of oil is when it stops leaking oil.

A friend of mine picked up a Blast here in Atlanta. He's loved it so far, he's getting about 65mpg. I think he paid $1200 for his.

I never ended up getting the one I posted about because the guy who posted would never answer his phone. Anyways, there's been a few more listed for a bit more and I definitely want one when I have the cash again. Ended up having to use the money for a home improvement project.

Aw, lame. I rode the one my friend got, it's a fun little bike. We ended up mounting ammo cases on the sides as saddlebags... You gotta put cargo somewhere!
