Re: No Bars!

??? Trip gauge works perfectly, assuming that you actually FILL the tank before zeroing. My '13 has a 1.56 Gallon tank per the manual. At ballpark 100 mpg, that's 150 miles. I fill up at anything above 110 miles, and don't really get nervous until 130 or so. I live in a densely populated area - it w...

Seems like the fix is for real - always a good feeling. Congratulations, and keep on truckin'.

Re: Seat recovering ‘how to’ guide

I did the same thing with the Forza seat. I bought a second seat so that if the project went to hell in a handbasket, I would still have a ride-able scooter.

Re: Ignition Switch/Shutter - Use ACF-50?

Can you get Boeshield in Canada? WD-40 is a very temporary lubricant. Everyone has heard of it and uses it all over the place, but it isn't really very good long term. You can also get some nice stuff at a good bicycle store - describe your need and they will recommend. The products may appear price...

130 mpg, and you're not using those gigundo imperial gallons? Awesome! MY best is a snick over 100. Keep your scoot FOREVER!!!

i would be too. Looks like it should have come from the factory. Cool!

And yeah - the difference in the reds is pretty darn subtle.

Re: Overall length and width

I just measured my 2013 and came up with 76" long and 36" wide at the stock mirrors (28" at the handlebars). As GN2 says, you can squiggle it in through a bit narrower a door, but it may not be that easy. It would be better to not have to fiddle with the mirrors - they will eventually...

Re: Another question regarding my purchase of the 2015 PCX

My belt just felt "funny". A bit more lip at take-off. A bit more squeal. I had the shop replace it at around 9000 miles. Money under the bridge, but the scoot is working fine.

Given that you will want top speed sometime in the future, Sandy, I would wait for replacement.

Re: Fuel Cleaners

I guess... I'm not a connoisseur of these things, but the one you have chosen looks fine. The smaller one would do the job and probably be easier to store for the other 364 days a year. People with boats use these things all the time. As you can imagine, a drain plug at the bottom of an engine sitti...

Re: Tool kit

There are two "tools" that came with a 2013 PCX that are useful. The helmet strap is excellent, and an absolute necessity if your helmet does not fit under the seat. It is about $8 and if there isn't one under the seat, the dealer should not quibble about giving you one. The second useful ...

Re: Fuel Cleaners

I got around the dripping oil thing by sticking a bit of tape - in my case some aluminum tape - onto the scoot before I pulled the drain plug. The tape redirected the oil away from the center stand. I still made a bit of a mess - newspaper or cardboard are still highly recommended. BTW - I took this...

Re: How many miles do you have on your PCX

I've got about 13,000 miles, and it runs like a clock. Given a private sale, if you show up with cash and a helmet (and the right endorsement on your driver's license), the seller should let you take it out for a ride. This would tell you all you need to know about your comfort level with the machin...

Re: I’m back

A seventy pound dog jumping, pouncing, or generally crashing into your knee would suck without a previous injury. I visibly winced as I read your first description. Once the Forza, or any motorcycle really, gets too far over, leverage is on its side and you have a big problem if you are underneath. ...

Re: I’m back

The PCX is a world easier to deal with in every respect, so long as your needs do not include going faster than 62 or so MPH. Driveway maneuverability, putting it on a center stand, even dancing around road imperfections is WAY easier on the PCX compared to the Forza. Forza is 422 pounds - PCX 289 p...

Re: It's Electric!

Don't know if this is for real or not: https://electrek.co/2019/06/16/tacita-america-italian-electric-motorcycles/ Having gears is interesting. I can't help but think it should help with range to have what amounts to an overdrive for cruising along when you don't really need that instant acceleratio...

Re: Trufuel ethanol free gas

That is one excellent endorsement for Sta-bil! I guess 10% ethanol is not THAT big a concern to a PCX. Very good news....

PS: glad that illness part of the program is reasonably behind you. Have a great scoot season!

Re: So I completely screwed up and stripped the oil bolt hou

I have had remarkable luck with a product called Pig Putty. I ran into it 35 years ago in an industrial situation. It is a two part solid epoxy that kneads into a form-able solid adhesive that can actually take threads. It will also put up with a bit of oil (one of its selling points was as an emerg...

Re: PCX150 weight limit

For my first year with the PCX only, my wife and I would routinely go out together. We pretty handily bury that 397 weight limit, and little scootie never complained. 50-55 mph was no problem - never had the need to go faster than that with the two of us. I did (and still do) dance around man hole c...
