Re: Malossi rear shocks (twins!)

OK, I posted a query in another thread, but wanted to give a heads-up here. After only about a year of service, my Malossi shocks are weeping oil. I’ll try to post a couple of pictures in a little bit. To my mind, this is unacceptable. I do not want to put my stock shocks back on, and am hoping to h...

Re: Rear shock options

Well, the Malossi shocks were, as I said before, a great improvement over the stock shocks. However, today I noticed that after about a year of service, they are weeping oil. There is a good bit of dirty grease arounbd the bottoms of the things which transferred to my wands when I was checking tire ...

Re: City grips vs. OEM dunlops

At 4600 miles my stock rear Dunlop was practically bald, and I never liked the way it felt on a curve in the rain. With just over 1400 miles on the City Grip replacement, I'm liking it a whole lot more than the Dunny.

Re: Forza Windscreen ..Best size/manufacturer

I went with the Givi adjustable. Around town, I generally keep it pushed all the way down, even in what passes for winter here in the Deep South. On those few occasions when I hit the interstate and kill my gas mileage, that's when I push the thing up. A word about the lower deflection: the wind sta...

I gave up on the stock shocks and replaced them with Malossi rear shocks.

Re: Forza weight to power

Cross winds on the highway don't bother me too much, despite the big box I put on the back. I have a Givi adjustable screen that I keep all the way down in my normal, commuting driving and push all the way up before the rare times I get onto the highway. On the flatlands, I have passed big trucks th...

Re: Rear brake/starter circuit switch

On the Goldwing, I had nearly every single microswitch changed under warranty. There was one (the half of the brake pedal switch that allowed the cruise to stay set) that died on the first day of a long trip. I diagnosed the failure on the side of the highway, pulled out my Swiss Army knife, cut the...

Re: 2017 Model Forza, Will it exist in the USA ???

Well, here in the US, the web site is still letting us customize and order 2016 Forza 300s and 2013 Silverwing 600 ABSs. Does this mean that they still have a lot of stock they haven't moved? It could be that Honda in the USA has decided not to bring in new stock because of our odd tax situations. S...

Re: Ambient Temperature gauge

I think you guys are over thinking this. Go to a kitchen store and buy a large dial thermometer. 6 inch shaft. Zip tie to your handlebars. Done. I have three of these, one on each bike. Whenever I go by a bank sign with the temp, it always reads within a degree or two,,, $6 x3 = an $18 investment D...

Re: Honda High Windscreen too Tall

Even with the dremel, take Johnny's advice and tape well the whole area on the screen where you will be working. Draw your line on the tape and go slow. Expect some stink from overheated tape and plastic.

Bonne chance!

Re: Battery life on the 300? (or something else)

Evening, everyone. aguim, I will definitely do the loaded / unloaded voltage test this weekend when I have time, but the crucial symptom in my mind is the fact that when the bike started is just shut off after about a second and a half. The times that I've had both starter failure and random shutdow...

Re: Battery life on the 300? (or something else)

I flipped the kickstand up, squeezed the brake lever, and pressed the started button. The bike said "click" and did nothing else. I kicked the stand back down, released both the button and the lever, and then started over. This time, the bike cranked & started, but only ran for about a...

Battery life on the 300? (or something else)

What sort of battery life are people getting out of their NSS300s? I ask because mine did a thing today that I associate with impending battery death, but the thing only has 20 months / 5200 miles on it.

MBMyer...thanks...wonderful...works a treat..seat now stays up!! took me slightly longer than 5 mins as its fiddly...but easily done. Have a great 2017... I can't really take credit for the idea. Re: Hearing Impaired & Scooters

I'm a piano tuner here in Los Angeles and definitely notice the ringing in my ears when I get off my little Scarlet. I have good ear plugs in my tool bag for tuning extra LOUD pianos. Those plugs are going in my scooter and I'll be placing the cheap foam plugs in my tool bag tomorrow! My hearing is...

Re: 1000 miles

That is crazy, very different from my results, but I do not have your types of bikes. Are they older bikes ? The most recent Wing was a 2003. The earlier Wing was an '83 Aspencade, but I wasn't quite as compulsive about data collection back in those days. The Viffer was a '93 model in pearl white i...

Re: 1000 miles

I have 10 Honda Motorcycles, and the Speedometers and mileage gauges on them are VERY ACCURATE. They are all accurate within 1 MPH according to my GPS at 60 MPH, both the newer digital gauges and older analogue guage as on my Honda SH150i Scooter. On the VFR and the Wing, the speedo and odo were bo...

Re: 1000 miles

Nice tip on that bottle of wine, gn2. I've lost track of the number of ways I've conveyed beverages of various sorts on the Forza. Much depends on how secure I need it to be and how many more stops I have to make before I'm home. I've strapped cases of beer or wine onto the pillion when the next sto...
