Re: drop scooter for first time on the right side

By the way, if you damaged any plastic, fear not. Replacement body parts are incredibly cheap at the Honda dealer, and come pre-painted.

Re: Just started scooting.

** The following is written from a perspective where highway traffic moves at highway speed. If you are in a super congested area with slow traffic on the highways, less relevant to you. ** I've ridden the PCX on the highway once or twice. In my opinion, it's borderline and possibly outright dangero...

Re: Careful in the wet

SECoda, you've installed the aftermarket (NCY) variator/rollers in your PCX? Eager to hear about what you think of them. I knew you had bought those a while back but I've not been online much lately and seeing your sig reminded me of it.

Re: I've been shopping for a High-Viz mesh jacket.

I have an Olympia mesh suit. I think it's called Stealth. They may have replaced it with the Avenger model nowadays. Anyway, I rode from central PA to Kansas City a couple years ago, maybe 3 years ago, that summer when it was ridiculously hot i.e. record setting. My suit is high vis. I've noticed th...

Re: Motorcycle Tent Camping

I was fortunate enough to have the big national BMW MOA rally located not to far from my home a few years ago, so I went down to check it out. The number of tent campers there was astounding. I think 5 or 6 thousand people on bikes rode in for the rally (I don't know that I saw a single person that ...

Re: Honda Pacific Coast...

Random PC800 thoughts: My parents had one (stepmother's). I think they basically sold it after a while out of boredom with it. They have had all kinds of bikes between the two of them. Nothing at all wrong with the PC, but I think a lack of perceived character slowly doomed in in my folks' garage. I...

Welcome. I like the white. It's the only color that's almost as attractive as the red. (lol)

Re: 75 mpg on new pcx normal?

Seems low... One thing I have noticed is that a scooter with a tiny engine (150) pushing itself and a person is very sensitive to riding style when you're concerned with max MPG. If I run flat out at top or near top speed for a while, MPG goes way down. Cruising around at 40 mph, great MPG. Tons of ...

Re: R&G Sliders

Just from the way they mount, looks like if the bike slid down toward the direction of the kickstand, the metal is thin enough on the slider that it would bend upward. My other concern would be what those mounting screws are actually screwing into. Plastic? Metal? The type of sliders that are more o...

Re: R&G Sliders

Looks like the bracket holding the slider might just bend up upon impact. The slide material itself looks durable, but the way they mount looks fragile and unreliable to me.

Re: Chinese scooter quality

In my experience, when someone says made in China, they generally mean mainland China, not Taiwan. Also in my experience, made in Taiwan means better quality by far than made in (mainland) China. Kymco and Sym are regarded as higher echelon manufacturers (quality-wise) than the no name mainland Chin...

Too bad those cool looking side cases on that white scoot are too small (both inside size and size of opening) to be useful for anything beyond your cell phone or a notepad.

Re: If you have to cough or sneeze while wearing a full-face

I find it helpful to breathe through a piece of old vacuum cleaner hose while I ride. Cut a hole in the chin piece of your full face so that the hose has a ram air effect. Plug your nose with a clothes pin. Now, when you cough, any waste products go outside your helmet and onto the windshield of the...

Re: Touring/long trips on Forza

I've ridden a motorcycle from my parents' place in central PA to my house in Kansas City a number of times. That's probably roughly an 1100 mile ride assuming you take the most direct route, which I sometimes did not. 1300-1400 miles is probably the farthest I've ever ridden one way on any given tri...
