Re: What size top box

I personally find top-boxes limiting. It may not look...svelt, but I use a file crate. Because of my travels, I pack a lot on my scoot. If you look at the blog post linked below, you can see how I packed my old scoot. Under the tarp is a crate with a sleeping bag, tent, and cooking gear. I couldn't ...

Re: hello there, some advice please ?

I'm not sure that the transmission does any shifting up or down as its a constantly variable transmission and doesn't have shiftable gearbox. I'm not an expert though... You may not be an expert, but you're correct. The CVT is basically comprized of two pullies. The drive shaft from the engine goes...

Re: warped rotor

Any fix for a warped sense of humor?

scooter bound, did you clean the brake pad surfaces? it's possible there was something on the pads. Trying to think too, when was the last time you flushed the brake fluid?

Re: First ride on pcx150 - rear tire "squirm"

As others have indicated, under-inflation can definitely give that squirming feeling. road conditions can also play a part. I haven't run into that yet with the PCX, but on my old Sabre (a 750cc brute), I'd lose the back wheel a bit on wet roads with a bit of mud or debris on them. Had it happen onc...

Re: hello there, some advice please ?

Test ride would be good, unless the owner will allow you to take apart the transmission to have a look inside. Given that it's still somewhat new, it should be able to reach top speed of 67 mph bone stock. A lesser top speed like 60 mph could indicate an upshifting problem with the transmission. 64...

Re: Howdy...Potential PCX-150 owner

Indeed, I have full coverage, and the total came to $11.30 which was cheaper than what she quoted me. That's with a $250 deductible on collision.

Auxiliary lighting / underglow

So, now that I have my PCX, I'm planning to add some underglow and visibility lighting. My Kymco People 150 had LED strips and such to keep it well lit and visible at night. I'll post updates as I have them. Not sure if I want to hook them up through the battery tender jack with a switch or if I wan...

How about Pergatory's Pensioners?

Heh...I am in the process of joining the Christian Motorcycle Association. Not exactly an intimidating group.

Re: Howdy...Potential PCX-150 owner

Well, It took longer than I'd hoped, but yep, I bought it. :D

I pick her up tomorrow and the Honda dealer has a Givi screen on order in "smoke".

Very excited. Have to say, I love the insurance cost on 150cc scooters...$11.80 a month.

Re: increased gas range, mileage to outrun the coming apocal

Another option for a cheap gas tank solution is one of those two gallon water jugs intended to fit in a fridge. It will already have a tap. Fit a crate to the back with three of those inside (I think you can fit three of those in a crate from Walmart). Can directly pipe the fuel to the fuel line by ...

Re: increased gas range, mileage to outrun the coming apocal

Aluminum shielding would be good. Steel would be better protection, but the weight could prove problematic. Of course, you could just wear a kevlar vest and pray. Cell phone mounts could be adapted as forward mounts for small caliber armaments as well, though that would be if you wanted swivvel capa...

Howdy...Potential PCX-150 owner

Greetings folks. Veteran scootster here. I've been riding for many years and blogging about same. Started out on a Honda Aero 50 in college, many years later got a Yamaha Vino 50, which soon got upgraded to a Kymco People 150. Had an 83 Honda Sabre for a while, while keeping the Kymco as a backup. S...
