Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

Mod them both. Well, that's simple! Okay. Unless you're hurting for money, I don't see why you wouldn't do both. It's about $110 per set. The 150 would see more benefit, because it has more power. IIRC, the gear is also made to run longer for the 150. But both scooters should see a big bump u...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

Still, you might want to be patient with the drive face. I put the order in, was told it wasn't in stock(same story every other vendor I tried), and couldn't get an ETA on that part for two weeks. I've since ordered an alternative drive face from Japan, though I don't know if it works well with the...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

I'm not happy with my new Yamaha SMAX. (There's lots to like about it — but it's just not for me.) So I've just made arrangements with a local dealer to trade it in for a brand new red 2013 PCX 150. :P I'm excited. This will leave our red PCX 125 available for my wife's sole use, while I hog the new...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

I have never used that vario and the people who have prefer 13g even though Homies video shows the rpm to be 7,800 with those weights. The power peak is between 8-8,300 rpm so i would think I would want no higher than the 12g I am running in my stock vario which gives 8,000. Do you know if that pea...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

I think just replacing the belt might only recover some speed for 1,000 miles. Might better just wait until you decide to get a vario and start fresh with everything new. I found this listing which is a no-name vario from the same factory as the NCY. . http://www.ebay.com/itm/181327427488?_trksid=p...

A tad under 5,000 or so.

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

Yes. Normal belt wear in caused my 2013 PCX150 top speed to drop from 66 to 64 by 2,000 miles. You might get back up to 62-64 with the NCY and have the added advantage of cruising at this speed while not being floating on and off the limiter which kills the fuel economy even more than wide open thr...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

Does your bike hit the rev limiter now? The problem with a PCX125 is that it was intentionally limited to 62 mph. It has a lower rev limit than the 150.And less power. You could change the variator which might give a few additional mph when going down a steep hill but you will still be stuck around...

Re: 2015 PCX 150 top speed

Post them for sale and I'm sure someone in the USA will buy them. Yeah, someone here prob will. If the price goes high enough I'll start removing them off my bike! Lol. And yes, to Clarify Sendler, 4-5mph for the vario, 5-6 mph for the drive face. For a total of 11mph gained with both pieces. I hav...

Re: Yamaha's answer to the PCX... the XC155 !

A 2013 PCX150 will do maybe 66 mph at redline before any belt wear in starts to decrease that. With an aftermarket vario it has enough power to break 70 mph with the longer gearing. The 2015 has one less tooth on the final gear for some reason. Don't know why Honda bothered with that. Huh, interest...

Huh. Is that for the 2015 150? I seem to remember hearing that the 2013 150 was actually slighter faster than the 2015.

Re: Yamaha's answer to the PCX... the XC155 !

How fast will the smax actually go? I see you had a zuma125... how does that compare to the pcx125 (pcx way faster or about the same?) So far the SMAX tops out — on flat ground, no wind — at 74 MPH speedo, = 69 MPH GPS. (Yeah, the SMAX's speedometer is consistently 5 MPH optimistic. Unlike my PCX a...

Re: Yamaha's answer to the PCX... the XC155 !

Two weeks ago I brought home a brand-new Yamaha SMAX (XC155 / Majesty X). And then, a few days ago, I stumbled across a fantastic local deal on a used 2011 PCX 125 that I couldn't pass up. So broke down and brought it home too. These last few days have been largely devoted to riding them both, and c...

Re: 2014 Metropolitan (U.S.) - Honda is giving us COLORS!!!!

My wife and I have two 2014 Honda Metros: blue for me, orange for her. Both colors are fab, but the orange is an absolute kick. We call it the orange candy bomb. I guess it must not have sold well though. While the blue has been maintained for the Metro's new 2015 color line-up, the orange has been ...
