Re: honda forza 300 - help from Italy!

Robert, never mind... this is the potential confusion with the term sliders I mentioned earlier. http://www.drpulley.info/shop/images/product_images/popup_images/36_0.jpg I just saw the 2418 you mentioned is not 24x18 weights, but DR Pulley variator sliders....the 3 sliding bearings. http://i143.pho...

Re: honda forza 300 - help from Italy!

Robert, I'm not sure I understood.... are you saying he's using 3 each 17G 23x18 sliders + 3 each 17G 24x18 sliders? if so, I have not yet tested 24x18 sliders...they aren't available here and I didn't know they existed until Termix and Vulcandanny were posting here about finding sliders in Honda He...

try here, Robert... http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=VE-399%2FC2&_sop=15 if you can't get Adige don't despair....any good 15G roller will work. The Adige Carbon jackets are extra hard and when combined with sliders that are bearing most of the load, they should last...

Re: honda forza 300 - help from Italy!

No, just the fuel consumption gauge, odometer w/tripmeters and a clock.... I think the only difference is the parking brake. And maybe the reflectors?? I think the parking brake was required by US law since the scoot is never "in gear" when its not running, weighs more than the minimum (ei...

Re: honda forza 300 - help from Italy!

Robert, he won't be pleased with 6 17G sliders.... he will lose a lot of his topend speed, his fuel mileage will drop and he'll always be over-revving at cruise speeds. He'll go from 0-60 in about 10 seconds or less and there won't be much more left after that. If he wants 6 identical weights of the...

Re: honda forza 300 - help from Italy!

I would love to have a set of those Nuovi Rulli weights..... the one pictured would be perfect to test since they're Helix rollers (24x18). that means they're tall enough not to drop your starting gear, since they should be about 1mm taller than the 23x18 version I love the cam design....it looks li...

B Red for how long are you test all these solutions? For me you are a Genius. no one is so kind and prepared in this matter as you. No one in specific italian forum have never been able to say what you explane to me. ....No other component on a "scooter" determines it's personality and ov...

Re: honda forza 300 - help from Italy!

What do the different coloured lines relate to? The Veypor's software just arbitrarily assigns colors to each of the 1/4 mile runs when you select them for graphic comparison. I usually select 1 or 2 known configurations as reference, for example a run with the original stock configuration and a ru...

Re: honda forza 300 - help from Italy!

Robert: one of the reason none of the major brands currently use sliders is they didn't invent them... sliders are relatively new in the world of CVTs. There would be proprietary licensing issues and it would require new research and development.... how long was fuel injection available before scoot...

Re: honda forza 300 - help from Italy!

Robert: the modifications I suggest to you as an owner are based on whether you are doing the work or having a mechanic do the work for you. If a mechanic is doing the work, keep it simple! I would suggest a conservative approach using a combination of mixed roller weights.... the reason is simple.....

Re: How fast to your valve cover?

in a race to remove the valve cover, the Forza will probably come in dead last.....
by the time you can remove the valve cover, the scoot has been stripped to the frame and had the luggage box and probably seat as well, removed.

Re: After upsizing rear tire - what sliders, BRed?

However the Bridgestone also has a 2.8% larger circumference, which I imagine has had an effect on the over-the-road performance. I'm not a sport rider - I just poke around avoiding drama for the most part....but I figure the larger tire must have impacted something? My question : is there be a sli...

sorry again for my english language. Re: honda forza 300 - help from Italy!

The IronButt SaddleSore 1000 is the ride you've heard about.....a certified ride of at least 1000 miles in less than 24 hours. All sorts of motorcycles are used but so far only a few scooters in the 250cc class, mostly Hondas. By consumption, do you mean wear? If so, don't worry.... mixing rollers u...

Re: honda forza 300 - help from Italy!

Re: honda forza 300 - help from Italy!

You're probably asking the wrong people, since we don't even have a Performance section for the Forza. :) A few of us here like to go fast.... On your questions, it sounds like you're asking if reducing the variator weights will unbalance the engine? if so, the answer is NO (as long as the weight di...

not on any that I've seen...
there's a projection on the bottom of the housing that aligns with the hole in the handlebar to stop rotation or movement.

Re: Tuning the Forza 300 CVT

2 up @ 70-75mph isn't bad..... it would interesting to know the rpm and fuel consumption while cruising at that speed with that load. Part of the idea of lighter weights is that most CVTs (as configured at purchase) go to high gear too soon. There are many reasons for this but none of them have anyt...
