Merry Christmas from The Great White North (AKA Canada)

Today was a fairly decent day (5C/40F) so I took the PCX out for a Christmas day ride...took a few pics to share of False Creek and English Bay here in Vancouver BC

Re: Winter comes early on a PCX

In the old days, I would ride my snowmobile in temps as low as -40 (that's 40 below zero, F or C), but we would dress appropriately, as any bare skin would get frostbitten within minutes.

As for my PCX, I have driven in temps as low as 40F (5C) but only for short distances/durations.

Re: How many miles do you have on your PCX

I have a bit over 5000 KMS (about 3000 miles)

Does your PCX have 7450 miles, or did you just convert KMS to miles.....I ask because if it actually has miles, then it's likely from the USA, as all Canadian models should be KMS

Re: Ethanol on the rise BEWARE

Chevron super-premium (94 octane) is the only fuel I can buy here that has zero ethanol. I use this zero ethanol in the winter as a tank will last me 2 to 3 months, but I use regular 87 octane in the spring/summer/fall If we get the higher 15% ethanol, I'll likely use a mixture of the two to lower t...

Re: New member, with a question

personally I try to avoid the freeways/highways as the PCX was not built to be a highway cruzer.

That being said, the PCX can easily maintain 65 MPH but I typically take those back roads were the speed limits are lower

BTW:welcome to the PCX forum

Re: My New Cheeky Seat

I'm still tinkering with this seat and I'm getting there. I hacked off those two humps (see photo in album). Those had to go. I got some high density foam from Joann's Fabrics, but it's still too soft. I need something like thin closed cell foam from a yoga mat or something. https://photos.app.goo....

this might just increase the re-sell value of our PCX's....not that I'm ready to sell mine.

Honda Canada no longer selling the PCX

I went to the Honda.ca website to see what's up for 2019....and found it's not the PCX, as the only "scooter" they offer is the Ruckus 50cc I guess sales were not good for the PCX, or maybe just a better profit margin on the Ruckus, as it was only a few hundred dollars less than the PCX ht...

Re: Here Comes Another Noob

another option for your seat is a "Cheeky Seat" cover which allows you to take off the hump and hide the holes with a decent looking cover....you can also add foam to soften the plastic mounts I'm 6ft 4" so the extra leg-room is worth the effort and cost of the cover...and I swear I h...

Re: Winter riding tips?

I'm able to ride my PCX almost everyday of the winter, as we seldom get snow but I do limit my rides to short trips to pick up food/beer I park in an underground lot, so the temps never go below 60F (15C) and typically the outside winter temps are around 35 to 50F (2 to 10C) I use Chevron high-octa...

Re: RCMP Tri-Cities Motorcycle Challenge

I was amazed at how they could handle those huge Harley's, but they were amazed at how my buddy (the motorcycle instructor) could handle his 250cc on/off road bike, as he popped the front wheel in the air while going thru the obstacle course.....but he was nowhere near as good as them on the RCMP Ha...

Also remember that some of us calculate our MPG using the Imperial Gallon (4.55 litres), and others use the USA gallon (3.79 litres)...thus a fair difference

Re: Installed Givi rack and case

You can carry home a lot more beer than that but the police may not like how you carry it.  By the way, the weight limit is a CYA type of thing from the manufacturer. I have loaded much more than that in my tail box. I overload mine as well....I figure eventually it will malfunction but...

Re: Installed Givi rack and case

I have a Honda top-box which I use all the time, but my biggest disappointment is the weight capacity of only 6 LBS, which equates to 8 tins of beer....so I can't even bring home a dozen without exceeding the capacity.

IMHO... the size is really irrelevant, it's the weight capacity that matters

Re: Got a speeding ticket on my PCX.

The cop was most certainly being overzealous with a 5 MPH speeding ticket, but I bet he felt justified once he discovered the lack of insurance. As bad as the fines are, it could have been much worse if you hit a pedestrian and crippled them....you could lose everything you own, and then some Just t...
