Re: How do you access the forum?

Two ways: 1. Firefox with AdBlock Plus on Xubuntu Linux laptop 2. Firefox with AdBlock Plus on Android phone (not using tapatalk) Never seen a single advert on this site, not one ever. I also have signatures hidden because they're a colossal waste of space. Yes. I'm a fan of Linux, Android and Fire...

How do you access the forum?

I've recently started using the TapaTalk app to start accessing the forum and upload pics. It does cost a lot (for an app imo) to avoid the barrage of ads. I'm just wondering how other people prefer to read updates and share on here? Getting in front of a PC is something I do less and less of.

Re: Makes me nervous to watch this

It's kind of considerate to car owners who need all the space they can get, while simultaneously giving them the finger. But not something I'd risk. Someone here would knock over because they'd view you as 'far too clever by half'.

Re: Problem with the wind

I also ride by the coast. I find the PCX better than my last Honda Scooter (Vision 110) because the centre of the bike is more aerodynamic. But my previous Fes was much heavier and better. A couple of things work for me: I'll never add a top-box. If necessary, I wear a backpack when I need extra sto...

Re: i committed a sin

i have to confess to i just bought a yamaha xmax 300 but im keeping the pcx 150 Just back from the South of France where scooters and bikes are very popular. The X-max was by far and away the most popular 'new' bike. They were everywhere and looked great with the longer wheelbase, even if the colou...

Re: Low side crash at 10mph. Anything major to worry about?

I lost a lot of engine coolant when the bike was pulled over gently by its rain cover in a storm. It was new. Not damaged thankfully. Honda do it who topped it up for free as it was new.

Re: May Be Moving On from the PCX

America is GREAT again and prosperity has gone off the charts thanks to one crazy man with the biggest balls on the palnet Interesting. Is this really true? Most of the big economic indicators suggest that wage growth, GDP, stocks and employment are on the same steady trajectory as BT (before Trump...

Re: May Be Moving On from the PCX

You're right about the horn. A van reversed into me and I couldn't find it in the moment. Even with regular practice since then when I'm riding about, it's just not natural. It needs to be right there on a motorbike when you're warning drivers who haven't seen you. It's not. It a reach. Sent from my...

I've Googled for AF50 but did not find anything that would make sense :| Did you refere to ACF-50? Could you share a link? Thanks! Sorry - yes ACF-50. Thought I'd corrected that. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ACF-50-Anti-Corrosion-Formula-0-95-Litres-Pump-Spray-Bottle-ACF50-New/142835911914?hash=item2...

Re: What to lubricate after washing?

I live near the sea in the UK, ride all year, and the bike stays outside under a cover. The sand and salt gets in behind the plastics even. Roads were salted throughout the past winter aswell. Rust is inevitable. I can't possibly wash down the bike every single evening after work. I have the time to...

Re: Headphones

I use the Kos Porta Pro headphones for navigation and listening to sounds. The sound is excellent for the price. The speakers simply clip off the headset and I placed them inside a couple of velcro backed pouches (which come with £1.99 motorbike headsets from China on ebay) to hold them in place. I ...

Re: Gear and Putzing Around Town

In this hot weather, my choice of helmet (FF, Modular, or 3/4 Open), gloves, Viz Vest, work boots, and hoodie seems sufficient to me. I was warned against workboots when I was doing a CBT years ago. That a paramedic might have trouble getting the boot off you after a side impact to the steel toecap...

Re: Gear and Putzing Around Town

It's much, much hotter than usual here in NW UK this year. One of the problems with wearing all the gear on my 10 mile communte is that it has slow sections with traffic - particularly in the heat of the late afternoon. Riding is way too slow to maintain a comfortable body temperature to allow for c...

Re: tires

Do they soften at about 3,000 miles? Mine don't seem as bad - but maybe I'm just used to the very, very basic shocks - and I probably don't inflate teh tyres as often as I should. I thought that moving from a Honda Vision (1 front shock) to a PCX would make all the difference. It made no difference....

Re: I get bored very quickly if I don't have someplace to go

I get what you're saying. It's hard to switch off. Possibly age-related - I'm 51. I'm trying to learn how to switch off, before I y'know...I switch off for good. I find the bike isn't great on our country lanes though. And if I don't know the road, I need to keep watching for potholes that could dis...
