Re: Yuminashi 164cc keeps over heating

Sounds like you are too lean on WOT. Are you the guy who milled his head down a bit? That can cause increased compression. Yuminashi kits already come with very very very high compression ratios already. However, I have a guy running the same kit without problems and he squeezed 20000km or 12500 mil...

Re: Chicaboo's BBK kit and performance mods.

Update: Today I finally got stuck in and modified my airbox for the Yuminashi 31mm big tube air intake. Before I got started I thought I'd clear the error codes and reset the ECU, but the scoot was dead. :? So I hooked up the Lithium charger and left it to top up while I worked on the scoot. :geek:...

Re: How Well Does the PCX 150 Pull from 50 to 60 MPH?

It will pull fine.
If you buy the new pcx 150, don't change the variator. Just put in 13 or 14 gr rollers and you'll be fine.

Re: What do YOU set valve clearances to?

I personally use 0.1mm and 0.15mm for intake and exhaust respectively. It's nothing, because my engine is fairly open, not like on a pcx, my scooter is an offspring of the pcx, so setting them at the loose end makes the valves tick enough to annoy me so I set them at those value. No significant drop...

Re: CRP Performance Exhaust 125/150

This casts some doubt for me since the stock pcx125 makes nowhere near 8HP, let alone 10.5HP. A bone stock pcx125 makes about 7.8 HP, I'll find the dyno results over here and upload it later but I seriously doubt that a 125 with a performance exhaust can make 12.5HP since a full 164cc high compressi...

Re: Motor Oil Question

Actually you should be using ron95.
I think it's not too much of a problem. If you don't notice anything else that seems spooky than it's not an issue.

Re: Engine lost power

To be honest any extremely lean burn condition will kill the engine. Too hot piston => the piston starts to scrape the oil off the cylinder wall by itself, metal to metal contact => seizure. Too hot exhaust valve => burnt. Too hot engine overall increases oil temperature and some even might evaporat...

Request for help regarding piston ring end gap on the PCX150

Homie can you take a picture of the part in the service manual regarding how much piston ring end gap for the 153cc version (58mm piston) is the maximum limit?
I have 0.45mm for the first ring and 0.65mm for the second ring but it's for a 125cc version.
Thanks a lot.

Re: Motor Oil Question

Any oil will smell like fuel sometimes because heck to me some fresh oil smells like fuel already. You will have blowby during normal operation, meaning yes your oil will be diluted with raw fuel over time, however, to which rate of dilution is the right question. If you're worried, drain the oil an...

Re: Chicaboo's BBK kit and performance mods.

I actually have a fuel map for a PCX150 upgrading to 164cc with yuminashi a type injector if you're interested. Just send me 15 bucks as the dyno fee I had to pay over here to have that map. Or you can let the dyno guys do their jobs. I highly doubt they can flash the PCX ECM because it's meant to b...

Re: Chicaboo's BBK kit and performance mods.

Flashing stock pcx ECU? I highly doubt that but if they can, it will be a dream. The thing about performance parts is they need to work together. If you just drop in a bigger piston and don't feed it enough fuel and air it will be at best weaker than its potential and at worst FUBAR. If you think it...

Re: Confused about Yuminashi Big Bore Fueling

A fuel controller CAN be skipped if you're coming from a 125. It's still ideal to buy the controller and have it dyno tuned if you want to eek out the best performance. But you can get by without the controller, as long as you are staying on their course. You MUST get a fuel controller if you're com...

Re: Chicaboo's BBK kit and performance mods.

I think you can save on the valve springs if not raising the rev limit, BPT can chime in on that one since he's been there. I bet the CM/Takegawa route sounds easy now eh? TBH yes, somewhat, a lot of fuss and money for the extra 3-4 bhp I'm after. Webike has a bunch of Takegawa BBK's in diffe...

Re: Chicaboo's BBK kit and performance mods.

Well the wrong thing is putting a cbr throttle body on a pcx lol, but ok we see problems, we figure out ways to deal with it. I would strongly recommend you to get the yuminashi camshaft, not that I'm their public relations officer but I figure if you have decided to put a camshaft in there why not ...

Re: Chicaboo's BBK kit and performance mods.

You have a 150 starter and rotor set. With the proper adjustment starting is not a problem. I use their camshaft for my customer all the time with no problem. Back then it was a bit noisy when they chose stainless steel to make cams but now it's cast iron so it's much quieter. I got 16.43HP out of a...
