Re: Got my PCX a naked brother
@Youyou
Thanks
@Old Grinner
Not enough reflective material on the bag, I'm planning to stitch some into it.
I'm keeping the rack just in case I'm planning to take some longer trips where I can use both the bag and the box.
Thanks

Re: KLR On the Forest Roads Today
My Kawa is running well, but not running much.
Due to limited storage, most of its use are limited to quick rides to get coffee, breakfast, etc.
The trusty PCX is the one doing the daily grind.

Great photos. Seems like a nice place to do some hiking or trail running too.
Yeah, this virus really f**** all of us mentally.
I'm kinda sad thinking a lot of things will really change from hereon.

Re: Tire recommendation?
How long have you been using them? Some tires need at least 100 kms to be properly broken in. Also, any tires will probably lose traction in a wet painted surface (i.e zebra crossing lines). There might be a possibility that you bought fake Citygrips? Say they're also bad in dry pavement? Pirelli Di...

Re: Improving PCX rear drum brake
I also believe the brake is adequate enough to stop the small 150 cc engine, I even locked my rear once and skidded. My complain is all about the brake feel. Iv'e just installed an aftermarket "Bendix" one, and it's great. At least for now. Sounds like you may have an issue with your brak...

Re: Improving PCX rear drum brake
^^^That makes a lot of sense. Do you think CBS contributed to this too? Isn't rear braking "feel" poor due to the Combined braking system? You want good brake feel, Eliminate the linked braking system and run a single independent rear brake Cable. Its the only way you will improve the &qu...

Re: Improving PCX rear drum brake
I'm sure a disc brake would feel much better than a drum on the hand lever. I just changed the shoe on my brakes today as I don't like how spongy the lever feels. I guess the best thing to do is to just change to a new shoe every time I feel the brakes starting to feel unpredictable. Sorry to disagr...

Re: Improving PCX rear drum brake
I also noticed that Honda's OEM brake shoe is the same for most models; PCX 125, PCX 150, Click 125, Click 150 and even for the 110cc zoomer X. This means this is like a fit-to-all drum brake that doesn't get any updates or improvements. They could've at least gave the 150's a bigger drum for a litt...

Re: Belt Squeal at low speed
You can try removing the variator cover and see what's going on in there while your'e revving the scoot. Just make sure to keep your hands away from moving parts while doing so.
A new "original Honda" belt shouldn't be doing that.

Summer is scorching 100 deg F here in SEA, though I usually ride to work during early mornings and home bound late afternoons.
GN2 is right, I weigh less and runs just around max of 50-55 mph at most.

A glazed clutch will make the same sound. Better make sure which one is it. I'll open it, clean the clutch, set the belt again and see if the screeching remains.

Re: Rear tire wear?
My front tire still has enough thread depth at 30,000 kms of use but I noticed that the rubber is a little harder now after about 2.5 years so I decided to change it.
These pilotstreets seems to last forever.
I always feel bad throwing away a still good rubber though.

Re: ~ Honda ADV150 ~
Dang, it's quite sad that they're always selling the lowest possible specs for their bikes there with the highest possible price.
Some countries got ABS on their PCX's front brakes and ADV150 has both and rear disc brakes with front ABS.

Re: ~ Honda ADV150 ~
It's not a drum brake, though unfortunately here in Thailand, only the front is ABS equipped.
The lack of rear ABS and the 13-inch rear wheel turned me off.
This scoot will be a nice daily commute though, especially is you usually mix paved and some bumpy roads.
Offroad, nope.

Improving PCX rear drum brake
In my opinion, the rear brake is the PCX's weakest point. My complain is the lack of feedback feel, it seems to feel lacking in stopping power but suddenly will lock as soon as you give it a little more squeeze. The lever feels like it's too loose but once you forced it a little bit will lock the br...

Re: Effects of Extended Use At/Near Governed Top Speed
Is this a 125? Redline at 63mph seems to be very conservative.
PCX 150 can coast without any trouble at 68Mmph and will reach it's limiter at around 73mph.
I believe Honda's rev limiter is too conservative, but it make sense in a way, considering the poor braking capability of the PCX.
