Re: Tall Windscreen For 2015 PCX150
Thanks pcxowner! Beautiful screen, and nicely shaped. Google says the language is Korean and translates as follows: Free attached event] GIVI HONDA olnyu PCX125 Long windscreen D1130ST, olnyu PCX125 Giant squid screen Now, comparing the height of the National Cycle screen that Dean has, which is 14....

Re: not breaking engine in gently: what are negatives?
No need for you to put me down just because I have a different view than yours. Quite right! We should only disparage people who publicly reveal their failings unnecessarily. :) (that's my version of humor) I think you you was talking about me, not you. But it is sometimes extremely difficult to de...

Re: not breaking engine in gently: what are negatives?
10 new cars per month is a dealership.... :D Hmmm....darn good question... Actually at the first given quantity; 6.66 per month. At the second given quantity (a 50% variance) = 10 cars sold per month. Total average cars sold during period = 8.33. Average new car price in 1985 was $9005. In 2010; $2...

Re: not breaking engine in gently: what are negatives?
2-3000 cars over 25 years...Not one car came back with engine problems. God loves you brother. And he especially loves that Ford dealership, because it is a statistical impossibility for 3000 cars over 25 years to have zero drivetrain failures during that period. It's impossible. May I have the nam...

...We'd have been able to see whether, 600 miles in, they behaved at all differently. Oh well.... :P My considerations were more toward the longevity of the engine, as that appeared to be the OP's main thrust - while performance was mentioned once as opposed to negations. Many anecdotes can be had ...

Re: not breaking engine in gently: what are negatives?
True enough that the PCX engine will not suffer the catastrophic failures associated with aggressive break-in to which pre 2000 engines were prone. But even that was nowhere near universal. That said; ALL metals subject to heating / cooling cycles should be seasoned when new to better cope with long...

Choosing Windscreens
Having spent well north of a Grand trying to find the right screen for my last ride - BMW R1150R, may I submit some observations for perusal; One inch change in any dimension can make a screen acceptable, or intolerable. One inch change in angle of deflection can do the same. Thickness of the materi...

Re: colder weather fuel economy
In mid Novemberr the petroleum distributors start pushing the winter blend through the pipeline. The winter blend makes cold starting easier and reduces emissions. Unfortunately it also reduces economy. If the winter blend were used in the summer it would increase the likelihood of vapor lock.

You know what is most interesting to me WN?
That, with the specs posted relatively side by side like that, it makes the models appear to be very similar. Yet they are not.
To me, (just me I'm sure) is the omission of the 2015 having an offset cylinder with a lower friction coating.

Re: Honda PCX 2015 advertisement
One thing that I do not understand is the reason why US PCXs do not come with the "start/stop" system... I think you're right; it's a 'legal' thing. Our litigious mob of miscreants sue even when they're at fault. They don't have to win to financially destroy the other party. We need a 'lo...

Re: wrong Fuel used.
Good care taken to dilute the contaminant. The fuel itself will almost certainly cause no harm. However, your Diesel fuel may contain conditioners which may adhere to interior fuel delivery parts and should be cleaned. Recommend running a fuel system cleaner, such as Seafoam, for a couple of consecu...

Trib ya know, I wouldn't be surprised. Not one bit. Hey! Honda does have wings! Hmmm, I'll keep it to myself for now, and spri...

Sure is purdy. Purdy. PURDY! Glad to see that you are making the dayglo green fashion statement as well. I desperately wish all riders would do so, for we older drivers have nowhere near the visual acuity of our younger peers. It may by my fault when I hit you, but you're still really, really DEAD. ...

Number of threads showing is irrelevant, what counts is the free play.
And full and free operation at all steering angles.

I've looked up disharmonic resonance but really can't find anything on it... What does it mean for an engine? There are many studies published on engine harmonic dampening. Here is just a primer from a quick search, but there are many more in physics journals. Again, this is not a peer reviewed art...

Re: Another PCX 150 proud owner
Around 30-35 mph The engine sounds kinda like a Harley and I can feel the vibrations the most from the engine at that speed. The vibration you describe likely to be disharmonic resonance. Every engine except an inline six will have it. I'd like to hear if other riders have a vibration at the same R...
