Re: Front brake maintenance
I've just come back after 3 weeks away with the bike parked out in the rain...the front wheel needed a push to get it going, it had basically seized up with some rust on the front disc. Any cleaning/maintenance tips? I thought about using some wd-40 but that might not be the best thing to use on br...

Re: headlight upgrade
Well US headlight standards are different to European ones, they do allow more light out on the top to allow road signs to reflect. I notice that every time I drive in the US, so you might not see that much of a difference in light scattering. Fact is that a bulb that isn't made to put light on the ...

Re: disc lock alarm that came with pcx.
I was warned by fellow bikers that do not state you use a security chain even if Thatcher approved because if your bike is stolen when it is not fitted your insurance for theft may be invalid. I use one but do not have it on the insurance due to that fact. I have a cheap mobile GPS tracker fitted s...

Re: 75 mpg on new pcx normal?
The worst mpg I ever got was on a cold day going from London to Reading on the M4 motorway. I had my wife in the back and I rode my 125cc around 28 miles flat out at PCX top speed. The scooter was new with just over 1000 miles on it at the time and I got 85 imperial mpg out of it - thats around 70 U...

Re: headlight upgrade
Ouch, I can´t see much after looking at that picture....way too much scattered light all over the place blinding me! And blue or blue(ish) is the colour most HID enthusiasts choose for their light, believing all the nonsense they read on the HID sales adverts that it makes for wonderful natural light.

Re: R&G Sliders
R&G makes good stuff and I am confident they will withstand a slide or drop. They look and feel sturdy and so do the mounts, if anything, I have a more comfy position for my feet.
70 quid ain´t really money compared to what stuff for big bikes costs. I keep them where they are.

Re: R&G Sliders
The mounts are sturdier and with more metal then the sliders I had on my BMW F800S. On the 217Kg bike the slider only had one single pin to hold it to the frame, and it did hold when I went down. Here you have an entire metal bracket and two anchor points and I am fully confident that the sliders wi...

The wall of tools: img01.JPG It's not the most impressive, but gets the job done. It's functional at least! I have dozens of floorplans I've made for me and my wife's dream house one day. She always says that if I spent as much time designing the rest of the house designs as I did the garage, I cou...

Re: How To: Replace A Headlight Bulb
Krammnala, I too wanted to replace the OEM bulbs on my PCX. I found some bright HS5 30/35 watt bulbs on eBay for $25 a pair and followed your instructions to a "T". Had my new bulbs installed in 15 minutes! They are much brighter, thank you for the detailed instructions. Next will be to i...

Thats my take on aftermarket HIDs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5n38wDe684 Plus, HIDs are not that much better then good quality halogens and the blue (ish) light is rubbish in adverse weather conditions. Blue is also the only colour that makes the human eye misjudge distances - thats why we thi...

Re: R&G Sliders
Thats exactly why I put sliders on all bikes I had, the costs of the plastics are just phenomenal. When I went down with my XL 1000 (head on with an SUV - I won :D ), the crash bars not only saved some 300 Pounds for one side fairing, but also kept the internals safe (that bike has two radiators, on...

Re: TYRE CHANGE
I agree and all my cars got winter or proper snowflake certified all weather tyres, but most summer tyres don´t just wash away at below 10 degrees unless there is oil or ice or other surface rubbish. At least none of my bike tyres did that (until I tried the IRCs).

Re: Starting the PCX
Its a promotional video for a Brazilian Honda dealership, only the first half is about the PCX. He says that the engine cuts out after 3 seconds, then the alternator works as an electric engine and positions the piston in the best position. Interesting is the part when he says that the start isn´t i...

R&G Sliders
Every bike I had I put on R&G sliders or some (Hepco & Becker) crash bars. So I thought why not the little PCX, too - they always paid off in the end. I am a little disappointed by the way they look on the scooter. Some horrible yellow blobs totally spoil the looks of it. What is that "...

@djcat - I was not able to understand what the guy was saying in your video. This is what you don't want to do in a turn. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyfiIxf29JQ Thats because he speaks English :D If the road gives you clues on how it bends then use them. About as obvious and useful as a reminder to sit facing forwards. GN2, I don´t believe your comment is helpful in any way. If you think ...
