Re: Chicaboo's BBK kit and performance mods.

If you want it done, ready and go just ask Yuminashi to prepare it for you with the links to their stuffs and buy what they recommend. I doubt they can mess up a simple recommendation. And yes they are overpriced, but for the injector. For the wire loom I still can't figure out where they get the ma...

Re: Piston to wall clearance

.001" front, then .001" rear, if taken independently, give .001" , not .002" clearance. Pretty much as new. (measure should be taken ONLY at ONE place, either the front of the piston, or the rear (as pistons are slightly oval-shaped -- for reasons not to be discussed here). So i...

Re: Piston to wall clearance

First time I ever hear about someone who swaps rods and cranks in a pinch, yet can't quite figure out a piston's clearance. Ever heard of feeler gauges? (cheap and good enough):.0015"=perfect, .004"=piston slap, even if not evident to the ear -- brand new can be be very thight, but quickl...

Re: Piston to wall clearance

Because I don't have the proper tools for it. Switching rods and cranks is child's play. Measuring stuffs is harder. I'm not an educated machinist so this is an honest question. When you say 0.015" doe that mean the result from the feeler gauge on 1 side of the piston or is that figure a total ...

Piston to wall clearance

I have a small question regarding engine building. Feel free to chime in. I don't have special tools to measure the piston to wall clearance. I recently brought my puny engine from 125 to 150 and got a nice 2.5 HP bump out of it from 7.5 to 10HP. Problem is the stock KZY piston is 58mm with 14mm pin...

Re: Chicaboo's BBK kit and performance mods.

My experience with big injectors overall are they tend to make low TPS range very very rich, I'm talking about 11 to 12 AFR rich, that's a lot. Your engine is lazy with that AFR, not making torque. Plus your fuel economy will be terrible. The situation is. Takegawa is on the mild side of things, it ...

Re: Dyno results from a Charmo 170cc

Nice work. The blue line on the AFR graph look fine to me. That's AFR on WOT by the way. AFR on partial throttle is kept below 13.5, which is pretty safe compared to bone stock 125 which tends to be 16 even 17 with partial throttle. Stock valves, stock camshaft and 11HP, pretty good. I'm sure if I ...

Dyno results from a Charmo 170cc

Hey. I dynoed a 170cc PCX (originally 125), this is a newer LED model. Stock head and valves. Stock cam. Yuminashi 31mm TB and Manifold + A type 6 hole injector. Kitaco Type X power variator. Stock torque spring and rear pulley. 17gr rollers. PCX150 gear (53/17 x 44/13) APITech standalone to control...

Re: i-map injection controĺler v.2

To Adam. I don't know why you have so much hostility towards people who actually try to help you. The answer to your question is simple. You will have to tune maps for ALL fuel controllers. Especially if you buy yuminashi stuff, they do not supply maps for you to plug in and go. You have to tune it ...

Re: Clutch Chatter No More ??

If this KVB thing turns out to work well, which over here is absolutely the case - I got a guy going on more than 10k km with it, no chatter, should we ask the admin to sticky it? Since clutch chatter plagues all PCX models I think.

Actually Black is the fastest colour since it reflects all photons hitting it, hence your bike is not getting heavier from all those photons.

Re: 2013 150 Engine Mods?

Taller gear set does not necessarily mean you will go faster after all. There is a reason Yuminashi is not so happy about their 15/45 gear set. You will need considerable torque to push the bike up with that kind of lower leverage. Regarding the gearing using the variator. I think it's pretty much f...

Re: 2013 150 Engine Mods?

4V head from a Forza 125, the water holes will be for a 125 cylinder. Don't hold your breath. If they manage to get it and weld the water holes, relocate them it will still be problematic. Possibility? I think very small. Forza 125 is sold in Europe. Honda Europe price is next to insanity. 200cc, th...

Re: 2013 150 Engine Mods?

I am finding a solution for the valve springs. Just you wait, I will dig out a pair of valve springs that are not so hard it makes the RPM climb slow.

Re: My pcx 2016 dyno stock vs malossi variator

Most PCXs are limited not by the rev limiter but by the puny stock valve springs. If you ever hold one you will notice how light and fragile it is. I tried removing the rev limiter with the standalone once, almost kill the springs at 9600 rpm. If you plan to seriously do some high speed runs, find s...

Re: STANDALONE ECU FOR PCX125/150 LED MODELS

I don't know what an interceptor is. If it's some sort of resistor to change the injector pulse width it will be interpreted as a faulty injector by the ECU if you change it too far. The owner of the bike in the picture used a Takegawa controller in the past. Runs funny as shit. It runs 1 way during...

Re: STANDALONE ECU FOR PCX125/150 LED MODELS

The base map is for a stock pcx150 led. After a few days the standalone is working perfectly. Still needs some adjustments to the enrichment system after cold starting but overall perfect. Let me state again that a piggyback will never be stable as a standalone. You cannot control the ecu 100%. But ...

Re: STANDALONE ECU FOR PCX125/150 LED MODELS

I can make a cfg file I think.
But as usual, no 2 bikes are alike. Because I use different variator compared to yours, that means different load. That means different fuel adjustments.
