Re: Supersoco electric bikes

I wonder if the 50cc equivalent can get up hills? There are some 50cc scooters on our streets here that have a hard time getting up these hills...which are really only inclines. To me they are a danger to everyone and should not be allowed on the roads. You don't need a license to ride one on the s...

Re: Cheeky seats

Sorry I can't answer your specific question but I know of several bike and scooter riders who have used these guys to rebuild their stock seats to a standard they are happy with.

By all accounts they do an astounding job. :)

Re: Going camping

The camping went reasonably well. Yeah it sounds like one of my "uneventful" camping trips too. Kudos for averting the potential key problem. I've had to stay an extra night somewhere while him indoors express mailed a spare set to me before now! (He wasn't even "him indoors&qu...

Re: Why a WHITE helmet

If I was worried about visibility a headlight modulator or a high vis jacket would be much more effective. Apparently not. I think it's something to do with how your head moves more than your body or the bike, so your helmet is the most visible area. My helmet is black. I know that a white one or a...

Re: Best British import since muffins

They're not really regarded as being English, never mind British. I think that's just a bit of branding at your end. The only time we'd really come across them is at a certain American fast food restauran. The muffins known in the USofA as "English" muffins are very much alive and well th...

If those stats are correct, then the SuperSoco has equivalent performance, for the price of a petrol PCX in the UK.

Re: Changing tires, what are the options?

We're lucky to have a few independent small motorcycle shops locally, as well as two main dealers within easy riding distance. What I figure is that I do what maintenance I can myself but I'll need these guys for things I don't want to, or don't have the time to tackle. For that, they need to stay ...

Re: PCX the USA from one end to the other anyone?

A little background: The first time I ever rode a scooter was in New Zealand in 2015, during the middle of my round-the-world bicycle trip. I'd been burned out from cycling, but I still wanted to see New Zealand on two-wheels, so I bought a used 50cc scooter. I got all kinds of chuckles from motorc...

Re: PCX the USA from one end to the other anyone?

Now that's some scooter ride! Was that one way or there and back? My concepts of European distances is weak (although clearly Google is helping out) - how long was that trip time wise? We didn't rush things and took just over 4 weeks to ride down. We did stop a while longer in Lisbon than planned, ...

Re: PCX the USA from one end to the other anyone?

Yeah it's not just in the USA that the "can't do" mentality to bike capacity exists. You only have to look at the number of BMW GSs sold in the UK and Europe to see that. A great bike, for sure, and if that's what you want, go for it. But don't pretend that you bought it because you NEED t...
