Re: First "Off"

If it clicks more than usual, get it checked up. That could cause problems later on if you just try to "suck it up".

Re: How to remove the speed limiter?

I posted a link. Sorry I meant how are they installed? Here's a video(when it's done processing): k6S9CdBQTvk Don't mind the rambling. If you're not doing anything with the clutch, you don't have to go to that step. The video cuts off just before I pop the nut off the clutch. Tools you'll need are:...

Re: Is it the transmission?

Front pulley yes, didn't see anything like that on the rear pulley or either of the clutch/clutch bell, which is where I would expect to see the most damage, nor did I see anything on the transmission case.

My opinion:
The bearings were never put in there.

Re: Is it the transmission?

Alrighty, so I think I got it to another "I'm sure it'll work this time" state again. I popped open the trans and completely removed and disassembled everything except the clutch itself(no reason to suspect that was the problem). No sign of the ball bearings(the AdvancePro ones that sits b...

Re: 155cc = 84 MPH?!~!

He's referring to the Forza 125. The article would seem to mention a 71-ish mph GPS indicated speed.

Frankly speaking as a PCX 150 owner, I'm not sure why I would want to purchase a 125 if I was after more speed.

Re: 155cc = 84 MPH?!~!

Maybe if you go downhill?

I know Honda claimed the PCX could go 70 mph, but it doesn't have the gearing/RPM ceiling to go that fast.

Okay, I thought you were talking about the washer between the drive face and the nut.

You'll make it. And unless you have to go up there at 60+mph, I don't anticipate any problems.

Re: Life Expectancy

So long as you follow the maintenance schedule and don't modify anything, 40000 miles sounds reasonable.

Re: How to remove the speed limiter?

I'm personally wondering if the NCY Drive Face is even necessary. After eyeing the NCY Vario with the AdvancePro drive face, the drive face actually seems to be larger.

Re: big bore kit

The big bore kit technically doesn't make it go faster. It would accelerate faster, especially at higher rpms, but your gearing doesn't change. For simplicity's sake, I'd recommend the Takegawa 170cc kit. I also don't recommend this mod unless you can do the installation yourself. I've been having n...

Re: Is it the transmission?

Stock vario also has a washer. It's not the drive boss or the variator. I did entertain the idea of using the shorter drive boss to try and help the belt ride a bit higher, but I suspect this has more to do with the rear pulley not opening up, based on the belt stretching.

Re: Upgrading from a PCX?

Oh I do, I'm just waiting on a 39mm socket I ordered for the clutch nut, but I figure everything I did isolates the problem in the rear pulley assembly or the center spring. Either that Takegawa spring is way stiffer than I thought, or the black powder I found managed to get into the slots of the to...

Right, forgot about that.

Already ordered it, so might as well wait unless I want to shell out even more money for another hunk of metal.

Re: Is it the transmission?

I also noted that the belt seemed a bit stretched, as before I would have to struggle to get it onto the drive boss, but recently it just slipped on very easily. Could be a sign that the variator is doing its job, but the rear pulley assembly isn't opening up like it should.

Re: Is it the transmission?

Not yet. If I decide to do that, I'd need to place an order for the 39mm socket and wait about a week for it to ship here before I can do anything. That being said, if that still doesn't work, then what could possibly be causing the problem? There's no glazing on the clutch bell, no unusual sounds w...
