Re: Helmet Law

Got nothing against helmets, I wear mine all the time.

Lot of things that can kill you or put you in the hospital. Being overweight, smoking, drinking etc. Those are all bad lifestyle choices that affect all of us. It should be against the law to be overweight too then.

Re: Helmet Law

Stuff like that is extremely rare, but it gets a lot of media attention. Truth is most accidents are easily avoidable. Life is one big near miss accident until the very end whenever that may be.

Re: Helmet Law

Only the people who have "accidents" are included in the statistics. Lot of "accident" prone people out there who shouldn't be allowed out of their living room. Let Darwin's Law sort them out. Here in the States it's now against the law not to have health insurance.

Re: Helmet Law

Helmets only provide a statistically minute measure of safety. The biggest measure of safety is the 6 inches between your ears. All the safety gear in the world won't save you if you are an idiot. Making idiots wear helmets is nothing more than another do gooder law. Surviving an accident is mostly ...

Re: Helmet Law

All you have to do is look at published motorcycle accident statistics. The last time I looked at Illinois. 3 out of every 4th crash that the rider died, they were not wearing a helmet. (a helmet is the only safety device that is tracked) you know what that means? If you don't have a helmet on, and...

Re: What are your positives/negatives about the Forza?

8000 trouble free miles on mine. Seat hump is the only negative, but it's not too bad considering the longest time spent in the saddle so far is less than 20 minutes.

Re: Forza 1 year Anniversary

Right now I would choose another Metzeler instead of going back to the Dunlop. Better ride and seems to be a higher quality tire, but it's only been 2300 miles so far.

Re: Forza 1 year Anniversary

After not being able to locate a 140/70-13 I went with a 150/70-13 Metzeler Feelfree. Been pretty happy with it so far.

Next oil change is due when the oil change light comes on at 8800 miles - or 12 months after the last change.

Forza 1 year Anniversary

Just passed year one with the Forza 300 ABS. Some stats: Put 7600 miles on the odometer. Majority of mileage spent riding between 65-70mph. Most miles ridden in 1 day - 45. All fuel ups have been at the same gas station - same pump. First and only service at 800 miles - no valve check. Changed rear ...

Re: oil filter

Honda part number is 15410-MFJ-D01 Genuine Honda one costs less than fifteen dollars. Can't believe you would bother trying to find one cheaper than that given how long it lasts. I bought 2 of the 15410-MFJ-D01 from partzilla.com @ $8.40 ea. plus $5.95 for shipping. Nice little oil Change how-to he...

Re: Riding Tips

As for the "Oh Shit" moments, often times the safest option is to lay ur bike down in a controlled slide. Good luck doing that with anti-lock brakes. The downside to ABS is you're not going have much biker cred from any near misses where you simply came to a controlled stop and then rode ...

Re: Strongly considering Forza, just took first test ride.

A Forza will sit at 70, but it won't be cruising. It will get up to an indicated 85 but not quickly. I'll second this based on my own experience. I've had my Forza to 85mph once. I'm getting upper 60's mpg when my mph is 60-65mph and upper 50's when I'm doing 65-75mph. I do most of my riding betwee...
