Re: Performance Spark Plug

I don't know about Performance but I changed the stock plug at 30288km with the Iridium plug NGK CPR7EAIX-9. Now almost 15000km later, I am not sure it made any difference. Do you change plugs every 8000km (5000miles) like in the manual?

Re: Best Oil to use

One of my maintenance manuals says "don't use automobile oil". However, Mobil 1 is accepted as one of the best. --Oldtimer79 Mobil 1 is a brand. I guess they achieved marketing success. Which vehicle manual says that? I've been using automobile oil for the past few oil changes on my PCX w...

Re: Rear tire - rude surprise

Never seen that before. Just looked it up online. A tyre blister, isn't it? The internal rigid structure of the tyre got damaged?

Re: Front flat tyre - only a few months old

It hit a groove, slightly off centre of tyre. It was newly installed tyre, only 13 days before nailed. Would be such a waste if I had to replace it already.

Re: Front flat tyre - only a few months old

A very long nail hit my rear tyre 17 days ago. I just plug repaired the tyre. I checked the pressure often and it is holding up pretty well like a perfectly normal tyre. Now 1733km already with the plugged tyre. I plan to use it till it is worn out.

I didn't use Mobil 1 full synthetic. Coincidentally, never used a 10W-30 as well. My bike is running fine too.

It got a sight glass, for coolant level, apparently.

I wonder why sight glasses for engine oil are very rare or non-existent in scooters. Cost more than the dipsticks? Fail more often? I actually have never seen a scooter with a sight glass.

Re: New Kymco scooters. What do you guys think?

All right, now that I've just seen how you remove the rear wheel off a Yamaha Tmax on Youtube, I guess the ease of rear wheel removal is a bit harder as you need a tool to adjust the outer belt tension. So I'm sticking with a scooter with conventional belt..

Plastic covered handlebars.. are always deal-breakers for me. Exposed ones look much better, and useful.

Re: New Kymco scooters. What do you guys think?

Don't think it's slated for N. America. USA get the AK 550. https://kymcousa.com/2021-scooters/2021-ak-550/ The KRV is called the mini AK 550, maybe you'll get it too. without a CVT? So, IS it a scooter if there is no CVT in there - or a motorcycle with panels? The AK 550 page here https://kymcousa...

New Kymco scooters. What do you guys think?

There are a few, but the one I'm looking at is the KRV. It weighs about the same as a PCX, the engine is 25cc bigger, got disk brakes front and rear. But what I find most interesting is the independent swingarm. Looks cool to me. Better handling is what they promise, but easier rear tyre change is w...

Re: What is this screw sticking out from speed sensor protec

This is old, but the screw is now out. I was at the dealership to finally change the drive belt (at 34671km!) and some bearing, when I pointed it out to my experienced mechanic. He straight away recognised it was a screw from my topbox plate. He just undid the nearby bolt and the screw was free.. I ...

Re: Another question regarding my purchase of the 2015 PCX

Replace every 24k km according to most PCX manuals. Every 25.6k km for PCX 2019 US. drive belt PCX 2019 US.jpg My 2015 PCX is at 15k km. Top speed now is about 110kmh on the dashboard. 2 years ago when it was about 5 months old, it was 114kmh dashboard, but 104kmh on a GPS app on my phone. I plan to...
