Re: Fat bastard.

Sadly that will be coming to an end all too soon here in Wisconsin and I will have to give up both. Friends of mine will tell you that winter riding is a blast! Easy to dress warm enough. I don't believe them, but they do ride everyday. And I see so many year-round commuters on the bike path behind...

Re: Fat bastard.

I use my bicycle for running errands under 20 miles round trip and as transportation to the gym and sometimes just for the fun of it. It gets me where I want to go and I count the trips as my aerobic workout for the day. The scooter is used primarily just for the fun of it and to quick trips to the ...

Re: Winter riding

I ride until the snow stays on the streets usually in December but as early as October here in Wisconsin. 13 degrees F. is the coldest temperature that I have been on the scoot. By using under and outer wear made with modern fabrics in layers, I have never regretted taking the scooter rather than th...

The whitetail deer are active at daybreak and early evening around here. That makes for some tense riding.

Re: Lost the hump ...

@RusticCharm - Can't wait to see the photos! Very interested in how it turns out. :) life is much better without the hump. 8) My appointment is not until the 29th. Most of my riding is under 30 miles at a time, so the hump is not a major issue. But, I am looking forward to be able to shift position...

Re: Lost the hump ...

I just made arrangements to have my seat reupholstered and the hump removed. He is also re-padding the seat. Cost estimate $100 to $125. He does very good work. He competes in classic car competitions. I am looking forward to getting it done and taking the scoot for a test ride to find out how the b...

High beam during the day and at night in rural areas and no traffic. In town low beam at night.

A sign that I am riding the scoot too much.

I just returned from the library, I was riding my bicycle. Just before I started my turn into the driveway, I reached up with my thumb to flick on the turn signal.

Re: How Did YOU Come Up With Your PCX Name ??

Two sources. Mike Royko, former Chicago Tribune columnist referred to people from Wisconsin as rustics. I also took it from a line from a Webb Wilder song, "please don't misinterpret my rustic charm." I am a rustic and quite charming.

Re: Location! Location! Location!

Just in case I make my location sound or look like a great place to move to, I should inform you we have 8 months of winter, 2 months of poor sledding and 2 months of mosquitos. Other than that, it is a great place to visit.

Re: It's Raining......

It started raining here Sunday morning and it is still raining today. The forecast is for rain every day until next Sunday. The winds have gusting to 30 mph and the temperatures have been in the mid 40's F. I have not been riding since Saturday, but I am grateful that we are not getting the weather ...

Re: It's Raining......

It was raining here about 4 hours ago, but I just got in from clearing about 5 inches of snow from the sidewalk and driveway. The fun part is that there is 6 or 7 more inches of snow coming and then it is going to get cold again. Thank you polar vortex.

Battery care

I am storing my battery in the basement on a trickle charger for the winter. My dealer installed connectors to the battery so I could leave the battery in the PCX and connect to my charger in the garage. My question is would there be any difference in rate of discharge and electricity use? It gets t...

Re: Redlights and small scooters

In Wisconsin motorcycles may cross against a red light if you have waited at least 45 seconds, the signal is car activated and you may proceed safely. I know other states have similar laws. Check your motorcycle laws.

Illegal: We had 4 members of an under 14 boys soccer team from Kosice stay with us about 15 years ago prior to the USA cup, a youth soccer tournament. The team went on to win their age division. Are you from that area of Slovakia?

Re: across the US and back on the PCX125... my experiences

I have been inspired. There is about 19 inches of snow on the ground here now and more falling as I write but I am now thinking about doing some longer day trips when the snow is gone. My longest so far have been about 60 miles. This thread has gotten me interested in trying build up my endurance an...
